Roles & Responsibilities:

Director of Property Development

This role is a key member of the property development business and reports directly to the Board and/or Chairman of the Board. The candidate should have proven end-to-end property development experience.

Main responsibilities:

(i) implement policies laid down by the Board and translate them into operational plans and day-to-day directives.

(ii) manage and administer the property development business and affairs of the Group on a day-to-day basis.

(iii) keep the property development business operations of the Company under constant review and present to the Board periodic statements, accounts, reports, and statistics showing the progress and performance of the Company (including the Group Companies).

(iv) challenge and contribute to the development of strategy and make plans for the future development and growth of the Company.

(v) scrutinise the performance of management in meeting agreed goals and implement changes in the Group's organisation structure and in the allocation of the responsibilities that may be required to provide for growth and changes in activities, the business environment, and personnel of the Company;

(vi) maintain and develop good relations with the governmental agencies of any country in which the Company has or will have operations therein, provided that the Employee shall at all times be subject to the control of the Board and comply with such policies and decisions as may be determined by the Board from time to time.

Knowledge & Experience:

(i) Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree holder or related discipline.

(ii) At least 12 years of relevant experience.

(iii) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and deliver within tight deadlines.

(iv) Strong knowledge of local law and compliance requirements

(v) Possess good interpersonal skills, confidence, working attitude, and leadership skills.

(vi) A team player who is independent and able to work under pressure.

Opening in 2023, Artyzen Singapore will be the first new hotel added to Singapore’s Orchard Road district in over a decade. What was once the sprawling home of the late Tan Hoon Siang (grandson of Singapore philanthropist Tan Tock Seng) is being transformed into a 20-story luxury property. The 142 rooms will sport a distinctive aesthetic, fusing reinterpreted facets of Peranakan art and style with contemporary design.

Responsibilities:

• Represents the Engineering function on the hotel's Planning Committee.
• Assists in the preparation and update of the Departmental Operations Manuals.
• Assists to ensure that all documents related to the operation of the department are being kept up to date and that all records are correctly maintained and filed, including the applicable code compliance certificates and local authority inspection reports for the property and its systems.
• Assists in the preparation and timely submittal of all reports.
• Assists to maintain comprehensive library of manuals and parts list of all operational equipment, as well as a complete set of up-to-date drawings of all areas and systems.
• Ensure that the Engineering activities are aligned with the Engineering Corporate Strategy, and that the Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate.
• Implement effective budget controls.
• Checks for energy and Engineering materials wastage and ensure optimum use of both in the operation.
• Performs, at least weekly, a routine inspection of all Engineering operational areas (plant rooms).
• Controls and verifies all Engineering logbook entries.
• Supervises personally all hazardous work and ensure that all safety procedures are strictly observed.
• Monitors the implementation of all energy conservation procedures.
• Prepares monthly comparative utility consumption reports and keep constant survey of correct calibration of all utility recording instruments.
• Checks timely completion of maintenance requests paying particular attention to guest related jobs.
• Prepares purchase requests and follow up with Materials Management.
• Prepare preventive maintenance and guest room servicing procedures plans.
• Provides cost and time estimates for work requests.
• Allocates work requests, scheduled maintenance and repairs to Engineering employees.
• Coordinates and supervises contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and the hotel's procedures regarding guest contact and safety.
• Coordinates the Engineering and maintenance work with other hotel departments.
• Prepares and conducts energy conservation orientation training for new employees in cooperation with the Training Manager and follow up with refresher training classes as conditions warrant.
• Assists with the preparation and implementation of an Emergency Response Plan and the operation and maintenance of all life safety and security systems.
• Assists in monitoring and controlling closely all environmental awareness and protection programmes, to ensure adherence by all departments in the Hotel.
• Assists in ensuring that the property, its systems and the operational procedures comply with all the prevailing local and national codes.
• Works closely with other Department Heads in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
• Other ad-hoc assignments and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Skills set certifications related to facility and management operations are required.
• Previous experience in hotel facility and management operations is a must.

The Employee shall be the Director of Property Development of the Company and shall be vested with the general powers duties and responsibilities usually vested in the position of an Executive Director of a corporation and such other additional powers duties or responsibilities as may be prescribed from time to time by the Board including but not limited to the following:
