As a Biologist within the Eastern Ecological Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Develops interpretable visual/text presentation associated with biological research projects of Center scientists and external partners. Contributes to individual projects applying reproducible workflows and data visualization techniques to capture and communicate complex dataintensive concepts to non-technical audiences using a variety of media (such as print, web, research products).
- Provides biological data management technical support for USGS science efforts within the Center/Office. This may encompass all aspects of the USGS Science Data Lifecycle to: plan, acquire, process, analyze, preserve, curate, publish, share, document, manage quality, and secure/archive data in support of Department of the Interior (DOI), and USGS policies and procedures.
- Works with regional, and national USGS science staff and to provide expertise in the principles, theories, and methods, of biological scientific data management planning, data curation and documentation, publication, and preservation.
- Assist senior staff in preparing scientific products (websites, data releases, maps, graphics, dashboards, and geonarratives, and text) for reports on fish and/or wildlife resources.
Salary: $78,592 (Step 01) to $102,166 (Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.
