About the Role:

• Assist in the research and development of Polypropylene and Polyethylene products for value added applications.
• Schedule and carry out day-to-day activities for product design projects to meet the targets for new product development.
• Assist Chemist to carry out commissioning and method development for new equipment and improve existing testing methods.
• Play a major role in the smooth operation of the R&D laboratory by actively involving in regular maintenance of equipment, preparation and revision of operating procedures, maintaining excellent housekeeping and all activities related to Health, Safety & Environment.

About you:

• Degree in Chemical/Polymer/Material Engineering or Chemistry.
• Diploma in Chemical Process/Material Technology with several years' experience in the Polymer Industry will also be considered.
• Experience in polymer material processing and testing will be an added advantage.
• Candidate should be a team player with initiative, good analytical thinking, and communication skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of lectures, laboratory practicals, and tutorials for assigned teaching modules at the Diploma/undergraduate levels across the School of Life Sciences.
• Prepare, deliver, and annually review and update lectures within the scope of responsibility.
• Ensure the satisfactory achievement of learning outcomes specified by the university partners and conduct tutorial sessions as required.
• Prepare and administer assessments to measure learning outcomes.
• Grade assignments, tutorials, and exam papers, providing comprehensive feedback in order to facilitate student learning and improvement.
• Serve as the Module Leader for modules within your subject expertise for all relevant programs, as directed by the Head of School.
• Monitor student performance and provide academic counseling when necessary.

Requirements:

• Hold a doctoral degree in an appropriate field, such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, with relevant scientific credentials (e.g., publications in peer-reviewed journals). Specializations in Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Microbiology, or Immunology are desirable.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level, including student supervision and mentoring, with excellent communication, analytical, and managerial skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, meticulousness in information curation, attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and a collaborative approach as a team member.
