I am proud to be working in partnership with Essex Police who are looking to appoint a Media, Communications & Insights Manager to join their award-winning media and communications team. This is a pivotal appointment and an exciting time to join Essex Police whose headquarters are based in Chelmsford.
You will be managing a team of c10 people that are responsible for creating award-winning content including everything from collateral to supporting their major recruitment and behaviour change campaigns. Supporting the content for their external communications about high profile and heartbreaking cases, to content for their many reward and recognition events for their officers and staff. The team are also responsible for maintaining the high standards on their public-facing website and ensuring consistency and quality across all content on their numerous social media accounts; and exploring opportunities to use emerging or new social media channels to continue to publicise the excellent work that Essex Police do.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to tell their story in order to drive sentiment change and drive behavioural change to their audiences; commissioning and maintaining digital and traditional communications to multiple platforms and audiences. Using the insights from their creative content to drive efficiency and improvement and managing and leading a high-performing team in coaching, mentoring and supporting them with their career and professional development.
You will work with the Deputy Head and Head of Corporate Communications in supporting their Internal Communications, Press Office and Campaigns, Partnerships and Events teams to ensure the team continue to: ensure insights and analytics inform all that they do and to ensure the creation of content that drives to the very heart of the Essex Police priorities of protecting victims, catching criminals and showing the visibility and credibility of their hard-working police force.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: a proven track record in commissioning, gathering and producing creative digital content to multiple audiences. You will ideally have three to five years' experience of credible leadership and line management and have a strong background in media and working with external-facing communications platforms, including websites and social media.
