Job Description: Quality, Healthy, Safety & Environment Manager

Department: Operations – QA & HSE

Role Overview:

As the Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the adherence to ISO9001 (Quality), ISO14001 (Environment), and ISO45001 (Safety) standards. Reporting to the Director of Operations, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and drive these critical aspects, focusing on sustainability practices within our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Quality Assurance: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems aligned with ISO9001 standards.

· Environmental Compliance: Drive initiatives to ensure compliance with ISO14001, integrating sustainable practices into our operational framework.

· Safety Management: Establish and manage a robust occupational health and safety framework in alignment with ISO45001, fostering a culture of safety across the organization.

Management Role:

· Supervise a team comprising an HSE Coordinator, an Assistant Quality Manager, and a Quality Engineer, guiding them in their respective roles and responsibilities.

· Liaise with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of quality, environmental, and safety initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

· Proven track record in managing ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 systems within a related industry context.

· Strong expertise in collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive quality, sustainability, and safety initiatives.

· Familiarity with Singaporean regulatory requirements pertinent to quality, environment, and safety standards.

· Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.

· Certified Lead Auditor qualifications for ISO standards are preferred.

Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of Organization’s quality plans.

Verify and rectify all customers’ non-conformance feedback.

Cooperate with team members and inter-department members within the Organization to resolve quality issues and implement ways to improve current processes.

Ensure all standards and guidelines are in compliance with the ISO 9001/ISO 14001

Participate in the internal and external audit and management review meetings as and when required.

Continuously facilitate the on-going improvement on quality / environmental matters.

Carry out other activities as assigned by immediate superior and/or management.

Training on current system, processes and Quality equipment will be provided

Job Description:

• Maintain cleanliness of Craft & Technology special rooms i.e. D&T workshops, design & art studios and kitchen labs
• Conduct a thorough cleaning and organisation of Craft & Technology special rooms i.e. D&T workshops, design & art studios, and kitchen labs termly.
• Assist the Nutrition and Food Science (NFS) unit with daily tasks to ensure smooth delivery of lessons.
• Work with NFS teachers to prepare the required portions of food ingredients and necessary crockery/equipment needed to carry out the practical/investigative sessions
• Monitor stock level of food ingredients and alert the NFS teachers to replenish stock when required in preparation of the practical/investigative sessions
• Maintain a high level of hygiene standards in the kitchen labs and during food preparation
• Support the Staff Engagement Committee in the preparation of light meals, light desserts, snacks, and packing of gifts.
• Receive food ingredients and ensure they are organised and properly stored.
• Ensure the overall cleaning of the sinks/stoves and overall cleaning and disinfecting of the kitchen labs at the end of the last lesson daily
• Ensure safety compliance within the Kitchen labs and the operating of basic kitchen equipment at all times
• Carry out the washing of aprons, school table cloth etc when required.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by School Leaders

Requirements:

• Completed the Food Safety Course Level 1
• Able to cook light meals, light desserts and snacks
• Able to read and converse in English
• Good interpersonal skill
• Pleasant disposition
• Able to work with secondary school students
• Has experience working as a kitchen assistant in schools is an advantage and preferred
• Otherwise, should minimally have experience working in a commercial kitchen setting

Working Schedule: Mondays to Fridays: 7.30am to 4.30pm, inclusive of 30 minutes lunch break

Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Contract Period: From 19 December 2023 to 31 December 2024

(option to extend from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025)
