Senior Event Manager’s role is to strategically build and develop their live and virtual event portfolios, drive the tactical implementation of these strategies with their show team, and deliver results in line with established KPIs and financial goals. As the ‘face’ of their brands, the Senior Event Manager will forge strong relationships with key stakeholders in their assigned industries on the exhibitor, attendee and association partner sides.
They will have responsibility for, and be evaluated against the financial, operational and customer performance and outlook of their events. This will require them to make decisions to deliver a commercially successful and financially viable product for the customer, with a growing market presence, engaged community and outstanding customer experience.
Role Accountability and Duties:
Strategy and growth
• Develop long and short term strategic plans for events – both physical and virtual
• Manage tactical implementation of strategic plans and lead Event Manager in developing tactics brief
• Deliver on financial, operational and customer oriented-brand objectives (e.g., new business and customer retention, customer satisfaction)
• Build strategies to seize new market opportunities, or grow the brand(s) into adjacent sectors or customer segments (across geographies, platforms, and verticals)
• Support the development of event/product pricing strategies, based on strategic layout of an event space, product bundling options, value-based pricing and commercial drivers
• Support the development of key strategic partnerships and management of association relationships
Excellence and innovation
• Lead the delivery of outstanding customer experience, working with the team to create innovative and interactive experiences at the events
• Drive creative and new ideas to engage customers at and around the events. Prototyping new ideas and innovative approaches.
• Challenge current restrictions in thinking to increase engagement of an event for the customer
Operational leadership
• Manage P&L in collaboration with team managers and Finance
• Provide accurate and timely reporting of KPIs and forecasts
• Provide monthly reports and high-level leadership reports
• Manage collaboration across the business functions of Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, IT and Registration
• Responsible for the overall customer experience
• Line management of team managers through regular 1:1’s, professional development, and coaching | mentoring
• Monitor team and individual performance against targets, KPIs, and OKRs
• Support on the recruitment and assessment of new hires to the team
• Support where necessary in the annual financial planning and quarterly forecasting meetings reviews

The Role:
Strategy and Planning:
• Lead and establish the overall strategic direction of the social media strategy
• Lead the planning and creative development for social media and email campaigns/strategies to increase engagement, brand awareness and sales.
• Create and drive a community strategy from planning to execution, helping us build buzz and a strong following and community behind the brand
• Work closely with our PR & Partnerships manager on Belazu’s influencer strategy, managing key relationships and keeping the brand current with the right social partners and influencers
• Work closely with internal teams and our agencies to understand the creative idea and strategy, campaign development and principles and translate this into the idea for social media
Creative Content Creation:
• Creatively plan and curate brand-defining, social-first content that stimulates community growth, brand advocacy and share of voice
• Craft compelling and SEO-friendly written content, including email copy
• Work in partnership with our in-house creative team to ensure best in class digital content
• Develop and maintain a content calendar with support from the rest of the team
• Be the brand guardian for Belazu across all of our channels
Activation:
• Responsible for the overall implementation of all social media activity, ensuring on time activation
• Work with the PR & Partnerships manager to ensure influencer and partner activation on social is creative and joined up
• Manage our social channels – from responding to comments to scheduling posts
Measurement:
• Experiment and have fun! Have a test-and-learn mentality to continually improve our presence on social media
• Be responsible for the setting, management and tracking of the social budgets, demonstrating improved ROI
• Use social listening/measurement/insight and reporting tools to generate and share social data with relevant stakeholders
• Report on agreed KPI performance metrics and adjust creative to optimise posts and improve metrics
• Monitor industry trends + best practice, as well as competitor activities, and make appropriate recommendations regarding social media strategy
Social Media Manager key skills and experience:
You might have a Social Media or Digital Marketing qualification, and ideally some experience across paid and social channels, ideally in the FMCG space. In this role, the key skills and responsibilities will include:
• Experience in planning and delivering Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest campaigns
• Experience in delivery of influencer campaigns and community management
• Excellent communicator who can quickly build rapport and influence others to build strong relationships
• Copywriting skills with a creative flair and a proven ability to adapt and flex style and approach for the brand and channel
To be successful in this Social Media Manager role, you will have analytical and reporting skills. Our dream candidate will have expertise in the Full Office suite, Google Analytics with photography and videography skills – happy working in a busy, fast-moving and complex environment, with the confidence to build trust, engage and influence senior stakeholders.
