Summary

Ensures compliance with all government laws and regulations relating to environmental safety.

Develops and administers policies, procedures and training programs relating to hazardous, material handling and industrial safety. Also acts as a Radiation Safety Officer for the company.

Serves as point of contact for external agencies including emergency response personnel.

Hazardous waste – Develops, implements and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations.

Key accountabilities

• Provide EHS information, reports and training
• Track and review EHS management Programs
• Support EHS committees and lead EHS internal audits
• Act as Radiation Safety Officer for Singapore site
• Monitor and update all company licenses/permits
• Monitor and work with respective departments on license/permit renewals
• Plan and conduct training to Shopfloor employees on EHS related documents on a regular basis at least once a year
• Ensure company’s compliance with legal requirements
• Drive EHS activities, ensuring compliance with Corporate EHS requirements
• Conduct monthly EHS inspections together with EHS committee members
• Promote safety and health by conducting in-house safety / health campaigns
• Monitor industrial hygiene programs, conduct hazard analysis of hazardous substances and evaluate hazard control methods
• Ensure company complies with the ISO14001 and ISO45001 Management Systems requirements
• Work closely with contractors, vendors and internal customers to resolve safety, environmental and health issues

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Environmental Engineering or other engineering discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in EHS Management and Facilities Systems
• Registered Safety Officer with MOM
• Experience in handling radioactive materials preferred
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks in a fast paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft business applications

Key Attributes/Responsibilities:

Adhere to safety requirements and procedures in the capacity of a System/Package Owner

Conduct thorough walk-downs on systems in collaboration with the construction team, identifying and addressing issues to facilitate a smooth transition from construction to commissioning.

Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and mechanical fitters, ensuring the timely completion of commissioning protocols and activities ahead of schedule, contributing to prompt project delivery and operational readiness.

Foster close collaboration with vendors, overseeing their integration and ensuring effective communication and cooperation between vendor teams and in-house contractors.

Formulate and execute comprehensive commissioning plans, coordinating activities and resources to achieve project milestones efficiently.

Supervise protocol execution, troubleshooting, and issue resolution to uphold the project's objectives and minimize disruptions.

Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams, including process, engineering, automation, and quality assurance, to ensure the seamless integration of commissioning activities.

The position is responsible for directing and managing specialty consultative focus teams to plan and execute the activities and projects necessary to support and sustain VHA's transformation to a Whole Health System of care. The Supervisory Senior Consultant works across the four Regions on the design and development of national projects and initiatives that are then shared with the Regional field implementation teams for on-going implementation. The incumbent works as a senior member of a diverse multi-professional Leadership Team and has responsibility for:

• Leads a diverse portfolio of programs that may include: Whole Health System Model strategic development and implementation, Classroom to Practice Pilot Projects, Whole Health coding, strategic design of a Whole Health electronic record, national-level collaborations, and program evaluation with a focus on alignment of national tools with field implementation.
• Engages, leads, develops and facilitates national efforts with an emphasis on: national implementation of the Whole Health System, cultural models, clinical models, data analysis, strategic linkages and integration, process improvement, performance measurement and evaluation, and program office collaboration engagement development and management.
• Assists the Associate Director, Field implementation with strategic planning and implementation across all four field implementation team regions.
• Works creatively, cohesively, and insightfully with colleagues and other key Program Directors within VA, to design and develop innovative initiatives that will improve Whole Health and patient centered care quality and efficiency.
• Represents the Director, Deputy Director and/or Associate Director, OPCC&CT on all projects, and works with others towards meeting national mandates.
• Designs and implements national strategies for system-wide field implementation of patient centered care and Whole Health System practices.

Note: The position requires travel approximately 50% of the time within the United States and its territories. The incumbent will be required to have a valid driver's license to visit the multiple locations within the regional FIT area of responsibility. Air travel will be required for locations beyond a reasonable driving distance.
