• The candidate is responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet the business needs and service level for ORACLE plus another db flavour MSSQL/MYSQL/POSTGRES/Mongo
• Provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support.
• Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated.
• Manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
• Monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve.
• Perform regular security patching for the DBs including RAC/Cluster db.
• Handle service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
• Manage DB access. Create, Change, delete users accounts as per request.
• Maintain dataguard and ensure DR in synch all times.
• Monitor and maintain database backups.
• Audit Support.

Skills for Success:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• EDB Professional Certification
• Oracle Professional Certification
• MS SQL Professional Certification
• Minimum 3 year of experience in Oracle(Standalone +RAC/Cluster), PostgreSQL(Standalone +Cluster), MS SQL (Standalone +Cluster) and
• Extensive experience in managing common Database platform like Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL & MongoDB including Cluster architecture
• Experience in performing database Patching, backup & recovery as well as excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skill is a must.(Including cluster architecture)
• Implement Database hardening as per CIS Benchmarks.
• EDB Cluster management using EFM.
• Implement and manage Audit, Backup & Monitoring of DBs.

Support the Operations team to optimize the capability of the Singtel Managed Cloud (Private & Public) platforms to deliver a cost effective and sustained level of availability to meet Corporate customers’ requirements. Incorporate continuous improvement process in operations through constant monitoring, reporting, evaluating and improving the operation metrics, especially in managing vendors to deliver the expected service to Singtel customers.

In addition, to support technical implementation & operational support for both On-Prem VMware Infra & Public Cloud (eg. AWS & AZURE) infrastructure & services defined by the respective customers by Service Levels.

Make an Impact by:

Management Support:

1. To assist the Operations Director / Operations Team to ensure smooth operations that conformed with the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA) and within the budgeted capital and operational expenses.
2. To assist the Operations Director / Operations Team in establishing IT standards, processes and guidelines that are in line with industry standards and best practices
3. To manage reporting of operational statistics based on respective competencies and cloud resources on a monthly basis.
4. To plan and execute the annual workplan for the effective management of the Singtel Managed Cloud platforms to achieve the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA)
5. To manage the Opex/Capex of the cloud assets within the Singtel Managed Cloud platforms.
6. To lead, promote and introduce automation initiatives as part of continuous efficiency/productivity improvement of the various Singtel Managed Cloud platform.
7. To lead, manage the customer cloud end-to-end onboarding & BAU operations as part of a cloud project delivery coordinator / Ops manager.
8. To lead, manage and support the team on audits, compliance based on international (ISO) and local standards.

Technical Support:

1. Provisioning and de-provisioning Public Cloud Services (AWS / Azure) & Private Cloud (VMware-vCloud Director, vCenter, NSX-T, vSAN)
2. Deploying, managing, and operating Public/Private Cloud environments
3. Identifying appropriate use of Public/Private Cloud operational best practices
4. Estimating Public Cloud costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms
5. Maintain technical documentation (ensure up to date info)
6. Proactively create (where appropriate) automation, to streamline provisioning and de-provisioning processes
7. Support data/service migration projects
8. Manage Public/Private Cloud infrastructure changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
9. Respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
10. Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & availability.
11. Ensure service level meets the requirement. Propose and implement action plan when required.
12. Review standard operations procedures to ensure relevancy.
13. Support service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
14. Conduct root cause analysis & implement pro-active measures. Monitor effectiveness of implemented measures.
15. Provide systems related technical advice to customers or project teams for manageable issues.
16. Implement processes based on security standards or best practices to avoid security breaches and reduce system vulnerability. Support security audits and implement the necessary corrective/preventive actions.
17. To provide 24x7 Support @L2 to L2.5 tier

Skills for Success:

• Diploma in Computer Information Systems or related field
• VMWare VCP Certification or Training will be a plus.
• Certification in Azure System Administration
• ITIL v3 Foundation Certification - Mandatory
• Certification in AWS System Administration
• Minimum 4 years working experience relevant to functional area, especially in supporting (AND/OR)
• Private Cloud Infra / Virtualization using VMware technology, especially in vCloudDirector, vCenter, vSphere, vSAN & NSX-T administrations
• Public Cloud Infra (AWS & AZURE) Administration
• Experience with Automation Tools (python and others)
• Experience Configuration tool (Terraform and others)
