Occupational Therapist - Band 6
37.5 hours per week, permanent role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Occupational Therapist to be part of our team.
The successful applicant will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver recovery focused interventions in the community.
You will receive support and supervision from the management team and professional supervision from an Occupational Therapist.
This team offers assessment and evidence-based interventions and support for individuals experiencing non psychosis and psychosis diagnosis to prevent hospital admission.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team using evidence based approaches in the delivery of interventions. The candidate will also have the resilience and positivity to work with a challenging but also very rewarding client group This includes OT specific work and home treatment interventions as well as supporting the duty desk and urgent triage.
The team is very supportive and involves working closely with psychology, medical, social work, support work and nursing colleagues. This allows us to conduct joint and responsive interventions based on service user need and allows for each group to work closely within their own professional skill base.
Your caseload will be a mix of OT specific intervention, with some demand for home treatment interventions, assessment, triage and duty cover. Your work allocation will be adapted to meet the needs of the OT service and wider team. we also have an OT apprentice within the team so supporting offering support for them will be part of the role.
There will be opportunity to learn and utilise a range of skills such as CBA, sensory work, prescription of basic aids and adaptations, amongst other mental health specific OT interventions.

Good communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as knowledge of mental illness. You also need to be a driver with access to a car that can be used for business purposes. We also are looking for people who can demonstrate the Trust’s vision and values in practice, and are motivated to be involved in innovation and service development as there are a number of different initiatives and opportunities that we encourage staff to become involved with. The role has the expectation of managing and / or supervising junior staff and providing leadership for the team, your leadership skills will also be assessed in interview.
