We are seeking an experienced/high performance technical/electronics engineering individual keen to pursue new challenges. You will manage the technical aspect of product development including product roadmap, designing PCBs and whole products with firmware updates, occasional soldering work and other technical requirements for the industrial, wellness and medical markets.
You are a self-motivated individual with a passion for electronics/microelectronics, miniaturisation, IoT/AIoT or wireless communication technologies and a desire to work on customer-focused solutions that have the potential to change people’s lives for the better. There is also the opportunity to participate in research and development activities on new and exciting market applications for key clients.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for all technical aspects of hardware product development
· Apply electronics design and engineering knowledge to the design and development of new products, including IoT/AIoT as well as current product/firmware changes
· Responsible for the end-to-end product development process; from ideation, proof-of-concept development to final manufacturing production.
· Manage and build relationships with external vendors and suppliers, including overseeing the design & development of sensors, product testing, qualification and other technical requirements with these vendors
· Primary contact to manage project timelines, terms, budgets, and quality standards with vendors. Ensure vendors align with our company’s requirements and objectives.
· Source and manage supply chains for our products, including sourcing for materials, negotiating contracts, and managing coordination, with a focus on electronics design and manufacturing.
· Collaborate with external cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and operations, to ensure a smooth and efficient product development and supply chain process
· Generate updated written reports that contribute to the Design History File
· Solve hardware/firmware issues with thorough systematic evaluation and troubleshooting capabilities
· Provide engineering support in the resolution of product complaints and/or safety issues. Provide root cause analysis support and drive the implementation of corrective action for process-related issues.
· Work closely with the team to drive cost optimization, manufacturability, product quality and reliability
· Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in electronics design (e.g., IoT) and supply chain management. Be on the lookout for alternative/competitive technologies related to company’s products
- Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, good manufacturing practices, and regulations
· Performs other duties as assigned or required
Requirements:
· Minimum Bachelor/master’s in engineering (engineering product development), electronics engineering, or other relevant qualification. We welcome mature applicants with necessary experience
· At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with strong focus on electronics design, manufacturing, and project management. Experience with vendor and supply chain management in at least 1 product development cycle is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of electronics and IoT sensor design, with a proven record. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of electronics & electrical fundamentals
· Experience in outsourcing design work to external vendors, particularly in electronics design and engineering. Strong negotiation and contract management skills with external parties.
· Experience/familiarity with IoT, AIoT, microelectronics, electromechanical design or miniature drone design is an advantage
· Exposure to miniaturisation of electrical/electronic components and software coding is preferred
· Ability to handle software/firmware programming, design specifications & requirements and verification & validation
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Has other interests that could value-add to the role. E.g., biomechanics/body movement, data analytics, AI/ML, coding
· Prior experience in working within a company’s Quality System is a bonus
· Able to define and develop test procedures and to perform design verification
· Excellent projection management, organizational skills with attention to details
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

· Keen interest in worker safety, wellness, or sports markets
· Some familiarity with the medical device electrical safety & EMC requirements (IEC60601-1), regulatory (FDA & MDD) and Quality (QSR & ISO 13485) issues or similarly regulated industry
