- and right now we are looking to recruit for a Sports Co-ordinator to join the centre.
Lilleshall is one of Sport England`s National Sports Centres and is home to a number of National Governing Bodies of Sport. Lilleshall provides excellent facilities to Britain’s leading sports men and women. Lilleshall is also a Conferencing and Event Centre, boasting a large number of recently refurbished rooms and outdoor spaces for weddings, corporate events, and team-building days.
In this role you will be the lead for implementing our approach to increase and promote opportunities for participation in sporting, leisure and social activities at the site. To support the management team in the implementation of a Sport and Community Development Action Plan. To develop and maintain a network of community partners and stakeholders, including representation at external forums/meetings and developing external funding applications where required
To act as the interface between site leads, Coaches and centre staff to ensure that service delivery and safety meet the required standards. The role will involve a high level of external interaction, some session delivery as well as provide direct support to the centres for sport development opportunities.
You must also be able to demonstrate a professional understanding/ability to engage with inactive elements of the local community and impart a passion for healthy lifestyles that will increase participation levels.
To develop and maintain a network of community partners and stakeholders, including the representation of the Trust at external forums/meetings and developing external funding applications where required.
When not engaged in Sport’s development activities the co-ordinator will support the wider operations team to deliver a world class service across site in Sporting, conferencing, and social events. Occasionally providing cover for the Duty Manager’s responsibilities when required.
You will help in facilitating a safe, fun, and professional working environment with free access to the leisure facilities, various discounts, and excellent development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and enthusiastic individual who like the members of staff at Lilleshall, pride and strive to give the best service possible for those who visit the centre and go the extra mile for customers when needed.
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate some experience within a sport/leisure environment or similar position with responsibility for achieving increased participation outcomes and it’s desirable you will either possess a recognised sports/community development qualification or relevant experience and the willingness to undertake further training and development as necessary an appropriate formal qualification.
You will have good IT, communication, report writing and presentation skills, the ability to plan and deliver sessions to diverse community groups, innovation in relation to programming, ability to work under pressure, manage time and meet deadlines, the ability to emphasise and work with customers of all age groups and levels of ability, travel when needed for meetings and events and have the capacity for improving self-awareness of performance and developing gaps in knowledge through research and completion of applicable training.
