BROAD FUNCTIONS :
- Handling Factory Electrical system up to 33KV includes operating, maintaining and troubleshooting switchgears, transformers and other related systems in the substations and production floor.
- Handling live system install at factory to ensure all in good condition and function well as per needed during running.
- To carry out all duties of a BO Chargeman 33KV as specified under the Electrical Act and Regulation (Energy Commission).
- To carry out periodic inspections and monitoring for HT and LV switchboards, bus-ducts, transformers, switchgears and TNB supply.
- To maintain accurate records of the condition of the above-mentioned equipment with monthly reports to the Electrical Engineer.
- To do energy audit, analyze the system and propose improvement for cost saving activity.
- To create systematic monitoring systems or programs in the institution for preventive maintenance for all mechanical and electrical installations.
- To ensure that all the above-mentioned equipment have a Maintenance Record of service activities conducted.
- To perform scheduled inspections and testing of standby generators, fire pumps and etc.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures in relation to power and life system.
- Lead and manage the electrical and air con team and work together with other departments for the smooth delivery of the required works.
- On call and respond to building emergencies (example: electrical breakdown and etc.)
- Must be able to respond to emergency call duty and special task arrangement during off day.
- Liaison with relevant government authorities (Eg: DOSH, ST, BOMBA, etc) on inspection and compliance issues.
- To participate with Health & Safety Office and Security Office to plan and carry out Fire Drills as required by the BOMBA with reports to the Management.
- Maintain a list of contractors and consultants and carry out their performance evaluation on maintenance checks.
- Overseeing external contractors works/ service and monitor their performance.
- Carry out in-house electrical works including laying wires, changing bulbs, maintenance, inspection and testing as assigned by the management.
- To participate with the Health & Safety Office and the Safety Office to plan and execute Fire Drills as required by the FIRE with reports to Management.
- Maintain a list of contractors and consultants and conduct evaluations of their performance at maintenance inspections.
- Supervise the work/services of external contractors and monitor their performance.
- Carry out internal electrical work including wiring, changing bulbs, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection and testing as directed by management.
- Participate in the preparation of budgets/funds for the maintenance of all M&E systems.
- Carry out any other related duties as and when required i.e. energy saving initiatives. In the event of a power outage from TNB, it is possible to switch from the substation's main line to the genset truck and vice versa.
- Attending breakdown Issue/crisis (upset) management at off working hours, weekend and public holiday.
- ISO’s coordinator/ maintenance.
