JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description

• HSE – Practice full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and meet the expectations of the Zero Harm programme.
• Product Safety – Understand product safety risks and work on mitigation to meet the required safety levels supporting requirements of the Company’s Safety Management System.
• Quality – Perform investigation on Engines/Modules and place part level (including component repair) rejected from service. Produce Technical Summary on strip findings and work performed on Engines and Modules including investigation. Support findings review & provide technical disposition to problems.
• Lean/Improvement – Identify opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes to meet current or future requirements. Identify, capture and share best practice; capture and utilize lessons learned working closely with Operation & Cell Manufacturing Engineers.
• Lead – Act as Technical Authority for Engineering during the shift using standards set to make quick/prompt technical decisions in relation to the area of accountability.
• Delivery – Manage related technical variances or non-conformances during operational processes (ERRN review & TV request management including PAF).
• Delivery – Review and resolve promptly to ensure operational flow on technical issues/problems/arisings to meet operation requirements.
• Delivery – Workscope creep management control that deviates from standard including Work Instructions clarification.
• Delivery – Support FAIR, MSA and time study activities in shift.
• Test – SAESL Technical Focal for all Test related arising from Customer and the engine OEM as well as with the testbed OEM. Create engine test instructions and support On-Off site Technical Support for Engine test troubleshooting. Support Test Result Analysis and acceptance and if required address Technical Variance arisings.
• Test - Test performance review and drive proactive improvement initiative to reduce RTS/RTT. Support readiness of testbeds in fulfilling new requirements / new product types as well as continued airworthiness and readiness of testbed facilities, equipment readiness in cooperation with the Test Operation Team and the Testbed OEM. Special Test Site Support.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering discipline or equivalent (Candidates with relevant Diploma and work experience will be considered)
• A good team player with good communication skills
• Possess good analytical and technical problem-solving skills
• Required to work on rotating shift work
• Willing to work in Changi

Essential Responsibilities:

• Partner and engage with Operations and Engineering teams to facilitate and drive robust RCCA in order to reduce Customer Disruptions and improve customer satisfaction.
• Partner and engage with Operations and Engineering teams to facilitate and drive robust RCCA in order to reduce Workmanship/ WIP Losses, Rework and Turnbacks, and improve FTY, delivery performance, and COQ.
• Partner and engage with Operations/Engineering teams to facilitate and drive avoidance of repair-induced Departures.
• Track and monitor quality metrics (Yield, Losses, Escapes), and perform trend analysis to identify systemic improvement opportunities.
• Drive engagement & training of inspectors and certifying staff to ensure disposition & inspection
• Drive engagement and participation in Lean and quality improvement across the site.
• Drive and promote Quality culture and participate in EHS and other shop initiatives as necessary.
• Act as focal point for all quality matters and clarifications for the business unit.
• Support internal audits and perform CAR verifications.
• Support, review and approval of New Product Introduction (NPI) and Process Change Notice (PCN) initiatives.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years relevant aerospace experience in repair/manufacturing or a quality assurance role.
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Basic proficiency with of PC tools and software (e.g. Microsoft Office)

Desired Characteristics:

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (heat treat, welding, shot peening, coating, chemical processes, non-conventional machining)
• Demonstrated work experience in reading and interpreting blueprints or engineering specifications;
• Knowledge of repair/manufacturing fundamentals
• Holds a recognized Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma quality concepts and tools.
• Knowledge of RCCA/HF techniques
• Knowledge of Lean concepts and tools.
• Knowledge of general aviation legislation and quality systems (ISO9001/AS9100)
