My clients Established since 1959, and are a family owned third generation wholesale importer of consumer electronics, office, and stationery products. Sectors serviced include Education | Online | Trade & Wholesale FMCG | Retail
They are now looking to add to their busy team a Quality Assurance/Product Technologist.
Monday to Friday 0900-1730hrs

The Role
This is a very busy and crucial role within the organization. Your aim is to ensure that products are safe and fit for purpose, meet external safety standards, are legally compliant, and meet customer expectations.
Typical work activities
Maintaining quality demands adaptation to customer expectation. Duties, which will be affected by the nature of the product, are likely to include some or all of the following activities:
• Open new and maintain existing product technical files (to include test reports, factory audits, safety assessments, artworks, MSDS, product specifications, bill of materials, bill of substance, user instructions and UK/CE Conformity Declarations etc.).
• Work closely with buying team, brief them on product compliance at new ranges reviews, manage sample testing and give feedback.
• Proofread, evaluate, and re-write instruction manuals.
• Review artwork and sign off. Ensure product, packaging and labelling is legal and factually correct and accurate.
• Organise product and factory inline inspections, meet targets and shipping dates according to PO terms.
• Manage QC Critical Path, work to committed deadlines, update co-workers of variations or delays.
• Arrange third party product testing if needed, negotiate test contracts and pricing both in the UK and overseas.
• Manage factory audits when necessary.
• Create and upload technical specifications to customer compliance portals.
• Communicate with customer and supplier QC depts, build strong relationships on a professional basis.
• Monitor product performance statistics in terms of returns, store & customer complaints, internet reviews & product incidents & provide regular product performance updates.
• Maintain Gold Seal library.
• Maintain product specific information in ERP system MS Navision Dynamics, (UOM, net & grs weights, dims, pcs / inner / outer qty’s etc.).
• Take incoming quality related product calls. Look into complaints, and / or poor product reviews to help provide a suitable customer response & identify any corrective action required, arrange third party product testing if needed.

Must haves:
• Minimum of 2-3yrs experience working and testing FMCG, such as toys, stationery, consumer electronics.
