Your Role  

You will be responsible for the insertion of our solution portfolio and growth of our business by winning transformational business opportunities across communication service provider customers in our ANZ region with particular focus on our most strategic tier 1 customers in the territory. You will establish and nurture key business relationships at all levels and particularly with C-suite stakeholders and carry a sales target which will be retired through your personal sales success and ability to win deals. You will work closely with fulfilment partners where necessary and consult with our mainstream Ciena account team but drive your own sales and engagement strategy to ensure the integrity of the Blue Planet brand is maintained and recognized as a value-based brand to deliver vendor neutral, multi-domain and multi-layer automated service operations to the telco service provider. You will report to the head of the Blue Planet sales & business development team for the international sales region and manage a dispersed virtual team of contributors to secure your objectives. This role involves extensive travel both to customer premises and other Ciena locations at sometimes short notice.

Your Responsibilities

• Achieve annual sales targets and grow Blue Planet’s solution footprint in customer organizations
• Stringently qualify newly identified sales opportunity in both existing and new customers and present your recommendations to the Blueplanet Snr leadership team on request using established tools, templates and methodologies.
• Establish, maintain, and develop critical business relationships with key business, technical and operational stakeholders at all levels including C-suite contacts in your customer organization.
• Develop, document, and execute a business development strategy that promotes Blue Planet capabilities and solutions, aligns to customer strategy, and secures new and continued sales growth through progressive wins.
• Identify and work closely with Blueplanet technical and fulfilment partners to achieve common objectives in your customer base and provide a force multiplier effect to build the opportunity pipeline.

We are sourcing a Senior Consultant - Strategy Execution to support the Head of Strategy Execution, to ensure that the initiatives and investment decisions align to AIA Australia’s strategic priorities and the initiative’s benefits are realised.

This is a fantastic opportunity to drive the execution of ambitious critical initiatives and to help build the capability of the relatively new Strategy Execution function. This function has an enterprise-wide scope with projects encompassing Growth, Customer Experience, Digital, Analytics and Operational Excellence.

To do this optimally you will:

• Support the operation of the Strategic Investment Committee (SIC), which comprises of the CEO, CSIDO, CFO, CTO and CRO
• Support in facilitating the prioritisation of enterprise-wise strategic investments based on organisational priorities, emerging opportunities and execution challenges
• Rollout and ongoing management of the enterprise-wide benefits management framework
• Review business cases and be a collaborative challenger to ensure high-quality cases for discussion by SIC
• Liaise with projects to mentor in respect of SIC process, funding, benefits and key measures as they relate to the strategic plan
• Work with Executives, Program Sponsors and Project Managers to ensure benefits outlined in the cases are strategically aligned, measurable and assessable
• Develop the consolidated view of strategic investment costs, benefits, critical metrics and project outcomes for the senior leadership
• Collaborate across the organisation to challenge and influence a wide range of partners
• Work optimally with the senior executives from Group Office (Hong Kong).

Successful applications will demonstrate:

• Transformation experience gained from Financial Services sector, preferably in group-wide or enterprise-wide role
• Strategy or Management Consulting experience with financial services clients
• Commercially astute with experience in developing and reviewing business cases
• Portfolio/Program management and delivery skills
• Experience working with the Finance function and project delivery teams to develop enterprise view of the strategic investment portfolio
• Knowledge of key drivers of the life and health markets in Australia
• Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite
• Establish and maintain customer relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management.

We will count on you to:

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis utilizing Mercer proprietary tools
• Act as primary contact for a number of small, mid-sized and large-size clients

• Actively participate to pension committee meetings and other client meetings cycle from the preparation to the presentation of our reports, findings and recommendations

• Support and advise companies in integrating ESG factors into their policies
• Demonstrate knowledge in core investment strategies and support plan sponsors in selecting the appropriate investment structure and investment strategies

• Manage and mentor junior-level staff

What you need to have: 

• A bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or other business-related areas with strong quantitative and analytical course content
• The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to successfully interact with clients and prospects
• Experience in client relationship management
• A minimum of 3 years of work experience for Associate and 5 for Consultant with Defined Contribution plans in the capacity of plan sponsor, consultant or relationship manager with a record keeper
• Superior communication (English and French) and project management skills

We will count on you to:

• Act as primary consultant for a number of mid-sized to large-size clients
• Provide or, with the support of other subject matter experts, be actively involved in the delivery of advice to a wide range of institutional clients on all DC aspects, including:
  • Financial wellness
  • Plan design and benefit adequacy evaluation
  • Selection of record keepers, and ongoing monitoring of overall DC plan operations; review of vendor contracts
  • Establishment of project plans for DC plan implementations and management of timelines, deliverables and budgets.
  • Design of optimal investment structures, as well as selection and ongoing monitoring of investment managers and funds
  • Structuring of customized portfolio solutions
  • Fee competitiveness assessment
  • Plan governance process development, implementation and on-going application
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and other legal support
  • Preparation or review of member communication materials as needed to supplement the materials provided by record keepers
  • Elaboration of reports on special projects

• Build strong relationships with and manage all aspects of consulting relationships for assigned DC clients
• Contribute to business development for instance through direct client/prospect approach or by responding to requests for proposal for DC services, participating in shortlist presentations and responding to requests and leads from colleagues in other lines of business
• Contribute to the expansion and ongoing maintenance of our DC intellectual capital

What you need to have:
