The Department of Mechanical Engineering, NUS, invites applications for tenure-track positions in all cutting-edge areas of mechanical engineering (ME) including (but not limited to):

The successful candidate must be able to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels in the above disciplines and develop active externally sponsored research programmes.

Qualifications

PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related disciplines with 1 to 2 years of postgraduate experience.

PLASTICS ENGINEER Responsible for designing and developing materials and other goods made with plastics. Creates specifications, establishes manufacturing control plans, and designs pieces and parts.

Plastics engineers develop and test new plastics, known as polymers, for new Products

Responsibilities

• Design plastics or injection-mold fabrication processes.
• Create and improve injection-mold machinery.
• Research and develop new manufacturing processes.
• Analyze manufacturing data and suggest improvements.
• Analyze production and machinery line.
• Ensure quality output of molded components.
• Develop and design engineered plastic parts, insert molded parts and assemblies.
• Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal resources.
• Establish the parameters for an optimal molding environment.
• Design necessary components.
• Ensure environment to make plastics is appropriate.
• Analyze quality control and correct flaws.
• Work with other team members and vendors.
• Review existing validation reports.
• Create new reports and verifications.
• Operator and maintained injection molding machines, ensuringsmooth production processes.
• Conducted real-time troubleshooting to identify and address machine issues promptly.
• Collaborated with the maintenance team to perform preventive maintenance activities.
• Executed mold changes and set up machines for different production runs.
• Monitored and maintained product quality through regular inspections.
• Worked with production schedules to meet daily and weekly production targets.
• Implemented safety protocols and ensured a safe working environment.
• Trained new operators on machine operations and safety procedures.
• Recorded and documented machine parameters and production data.
• Oversaw mold setup/mold changes and adjusted processes to

• Material Processing (PC, HIPS, ABS, Nylon GF,PPTF.POM,PPCP,PP)
• Oversaw production on 16 injection molding machines,
• maintaining lean manufacturing principles..
• Operated and supervised MILACRON (EQ&M) Series, ANGEL,HAITIAN, TEDERIC, and TON (80 to 2800) injection molding machines.
• Conduct analysis and improvement activities for new mold trials, resulting in enhanced product quality.
• Monitored and improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on the shop floor, achieving productivity gains.

• Bacheleor Degree in Plastic moulding Technology or Manufacturing Engineering
• Proven experience as production Engineering
• Deep knowledge of production management
• Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
• Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
• Experience in reporting on key production metrics
• Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
• Outstanding communication ability

This Account Engineer (AE) position is to support this expansion. This AE is required to work collaboratively with the management, client service, new business development and field engineering teams.

The AE is the client’s point of entry to all the engineering products and services we provide. The AE needs to understand their client's goals and the risks their facilities face. They need their AE to work with them to design and deliver customized risk improvement plans and help them sell the plan to their senior management and facility management.

As an AE in Asia Operations, you will work collaboratively within the Client Service Team and Field Engineering, frankly assessing, communicating, and reducing / resolving exposures. You will handle day-to-day account engineering activities such as report processing and risk improvement follow-up. You will have the opportunity to create and develop strategies that strengthen our client relationships and reduce the frequency and severity of loss.

As a result of the on-going success of business development in Asia and also in response to our client’s and our continued growth and consolidation of activities in the region, there is an increasing demand to extend the client servicing capabilities to more accounts.
