The IT Project Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects within Global Functions & Technology, collaborating with technology SMEs and business owners managing systems and business groups across the bank.
Responsibilities:
- General Project management - Prepare project timelines, define milestones, track and report progress, resolve impediments.
- Scrum master/Release Train Engineer - facilitate Scrum/ART events and processes and assist Scrum teams/Release Trains in delivering value.
- Recommend and oversees process improvements.
- Helps remove obstacles and foster an environment of innovation, continuous flow, and continuous improvement via Scrum of Scrums and other ceremonies.
- Support the Product Owners to manage the backlog and guide the teams with respect to priorities and scope.
- Ensure that sprint goals and scope are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team as well as possible.
- Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups.
- Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration.
- Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
- Help build a productive environment where team members ‘own’ the product and enjoy working on it.
- Coach team members in Agile frameworks.
Technical Skills:·
- Demonstrated experience in the agile software development process and leading multiple Scrums.
- Experience in using Jira, particularly dashboards for reporting and running ceremonies.
Business Skills:
- Should be dedicated and demonstrate superior skills in communication, problem solving and collaboration.
Organizational:
- Able to work with a virtual (geographically dispersed) technical team.
- Possesses good organizational and prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated, independent and takes the initiative.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in an IT project leadership role with commensurate people management experience
- Experience working in Agile Methodology.
- Experience of handling multiple scrum team will be preferred.
- Must be able to ensure agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority.
- Capable of completing independently diverse/complex work with minimal direction, diverse interactions, and knowledge resource.
- 3 years’ work experience as a Scrum Master.
- Effective critical thinking and problem solving.
- Experience with Project Management Tools (Jira).
- Experience working in a team oriented collaborative environment.
- Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Capacity to manage high stress situations.
- Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneousl
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience,
- Agile Scrum master certification (preferably SAFe Agilist)
