Chemist Technician Co-op/Intern
The Chemist Technician Co-Op/Intern is responsible for assisting in the analysis of routine and non-routine shipping, production, and development samples submitted by the operation as well as any other samples as directed by the laboratory supervisor. Analyses include phsyical analyses (Computerized Particle Analyzer, Test Sieves, Dust and Degradation) and chemical analyses (wet titration, Xray Diffraction, ICP-OES).
What will you do?
Chemical analysis of routine production samples.
Chemical analysis of daily mine samples.
Chemical and screen analysis of daily shipping samples.
Maintenance of laboratory equipment and housekeeping.
Comply with Environmental Health/Safety, operations and other business requirements.

What do you need for this role?
Sophomore level or higher pursuing bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related degree preferred
2.75 GPA or higher
Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
Student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required
Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
Basic computer skills are required
Experience working in a team environment is a must
Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
