Job Description

• Develop and execute internal audit reviews in alignment with the approved annual audit plan, evaluating the efficacy and efficiency of internal controls, governance, and risk management procedures.
• Independently manage audit planning and fieldwork, maintaining comprehensive audit work papers to substantiate findings and conclusions.
• Compile audit reports and formulate actionable recommendations aimed at resolving identified issues at their root cause or enhancing operational effectiveness.
• Track and oversee the implementation of agreed-upon improvement plans to ensure timely execution.
• Participate in the Company's J-SOX assessment process and contribute to various ad-hoc projects as necessary.

Requirement

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in relevant fields such as auditing, banking, accounting, finance, or commerce.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably with prior exposure in banking, financial services, insurance, or Takaful Industry.
• Exposure and familiarity with ISO Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO27001, and ISO037001) and Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley (J-SOX) would be advantageous.
• Proficiency in English, coupled with strong report writing and communication skills.
• A collaborative team player with a high level of integrity, initiative, and strong interpersonal and analytical abilities.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The role

You will be responsible for running day-to-day operations for our HQ and local team and contributing to the growth of the regional accounting function. You will not only ensure timely preparation of our payable / receivable function across our entities. You will also help to drive the improvement of accounting best practices in all operating entities.

Main responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts, review Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliation
• Handle company’s monthly payments in accordance with approved procedures
• Timely and accurate completion of all monthly and yearly closing activities
• Monitor cash flow needs and ensure that we clear our payables and receivables timely and accurately
• Preparing income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports required from time to time
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, and that accounting policies applied are consistent with the group
• Implementing and executing reporting processes in line with the designed SOP
• Identify improvement areas and initiate changes to improve the financial reporting and accounting operational processes
• Leverage technology to constantly improve productivity and quality of finance processes
• Coordinate with the HQ team, head of tax, legal, and technology teams in relation to ad-hoc projects
• Liaise with Banker, Company Secretary, Auditor, Tax Agent on banking and financial matters
• Support the CFO and Senior Financial Reporting Manager in regional and other projects assigned from time to time

• An ability to think & work strategically and systematically - continuously prioritizing key deliverables

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in accountancy 
• Minimum 3 years' experience in management roles.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Good command of both spoken and written English.
• Experience with SAP Business One

The AVP of Claims Solutions Malaysia is responsible for leading the advocacy response to major and complex claims across Asia. The position is also responsible for leading claims activities, including designing new or improved claims processes and communicating best practices to achieve effective and efficient delivery of services. The successful candidate will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as risk managers, insurers and adjustors and to design and develop claims process efficiency opportunities for the countries under remit.

We will count on you to:

• To oversee complex daily Claim Solutions operations, lead a team of claims advocates and develop colleagues to achieve internal KPIs and clients’ satisfaction.
• Manage or supervise complex negotiations with insurers to ensure best possible claim outcomes for our clients.
• Lead the claims insertion/element of tender and RFP responses for major clients and prospects.
• Direct and collaborate with regional and country leadership to innovate, identify and execute on new revenue models for claims advocacy.
• Provide oversight for implementing optimal role-cost-location alignment within the country through workflow management systems.
• Design and evaluate claims operations processes and strategies while managing the impact and delivery of change to achieve team operational goals and maximize process efficiencies.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with regional and Malaysia advocacy team to drive claims operations changes within Marsh.
• Lead effort to improve claims processing efficiency across the region, by synthesizing best practices and identifying opportunities for improved efficiencies, including facilitating claims fast-tracking opportunities between clients, insurers and adjustors to improve the efficiency of the department.
• Challenge existing practices and develop innovative solutions related to departmental risks, operational controls, and efficiency initiatives in order to contribute to effective management of shared operations.
• Contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insight, information and trends to Business Unit / Client Executives or clients as needed.
• Evaluate escalated claims process issues of high complexity affecting direct reports (and potential secondary reports) and provide resolution or escalate further to ensure effective outcomes.
• Design, evaluate and approve operational controls in accordance with the established business policies and procedures to ensure that they align with Marsh Global standards.

What you need to have: 

• Recognized degree in legal studies or related fields
• Minimum 9 - 10 years of experience in Insurance / Litigation experience.
• Possess solid insurance brokerage (or related insurance claims/legal), account management, servicing and sales skills.
• Demonstrate established claim management competency in Malaysia insurance market.
• Experience of working with large corporate accounts required.
• Proficient PC Skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ambitious, solution focus and with strong skills in claims advisory management.
