Job Description

The Accounts Executive reports to the director in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. He/She covers duties such as work that is specific to bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, stocktaking or other accounting tasks. He/She works specifically with accruals, fixed assets accounting or the monthly and yearly finalisation of accounts. He/She may be called on to participate in ad-hoc finance-related projects when necessary.

Main Responsibilities

(1) Enter accurate and timely data into the accounting system.
(2) Calculate customer account balances and reconcile with totals.
(3) Compile the relevant business documentation used in banking processes.
(4) Maintain accurate financial records and statements.
(5) Perform month-end closing activities.
(6) Retrieve system reports from the accounting system for managements use.

(7) Manage Assignments and Deadlines.

Requirements

(1) Fluent in speaking and writing in both English and Chinese is a must. As need to communicate with colleagues in Hong Kong and Taiwan branch frequently.

(2) Minimum Diploma in Accounting.

(3) At least 1 year of accounting related working experience in Singapore.

(4) Experience in accounting software - Quickbook, MYOB is an added advantage.

Overview

The Accounts Executive provides key support to the finance department. He/She will cover duties such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax filing, data entry/compilation, billing, generating of accounting reports or other accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day accounting functions, such as managing all invoices/billings including keying in data into accounting system.
• Petty cash compilations, claiming and updating of records accordingly.
• Ensure proper filling of accounts documentations and supporting documents.
• Accounts payable tasks which involve processing supplier invoices, verifying payment details, and coordinating with vendors for timely payments.
• Accounts receivable tasks which include generating customer invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
• Generating of taxation / accounting reports.
• Bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
• Liaising with auditors in their queries during financial year reporting.
• Assist in handling incoming calls and visitors.
• Other duties such as providing general office admin support such as upkeeping of stationery/pantry supplies and office maintenance.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Higher NITEC certificate in accounting / Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
• At least 2-3 years working experience in related field is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Words, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
• Knowledge in Xero accounting software would be an added advantage.
• Well organized, meticulous and an eye to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and effective at prioritizing and meeting tight deadlines at times.
• Preferably to start work immediately or within short notice.

Duties and Responsibilities:
