Role Overview
As a Public Affairs Executive at FIA, you will play a vital role in monitoring, analysing, and reporting on critical issues affecting the food industry across Asia.
You will support the Public Affairs & Regulatory Teams in issues management, research collaboration, and assisting in the organization of industry events and summits to facilitate stakeholder engagement(s) with business leaders, academic experts and government bodies.
Your primary responsibilities will involve tracking government policies and regulations for Asia and those that are emerging at a country-level. You will also conduct primary and secondary research activities to identify key trends and insights to facilitate advocacy and engagement activities for Asia.
Issues Management
- Monitor, screen and analyse regional news, government policies/regulations related to health, nutrition, sustainability, trade, supply chain and any other issues that have a direct impact to the food and beverage industry
- Identify weak signals that potentially impact the food industry both positively and negatively
- Monitor and collate consumer and industry trends on issues impact the food and beverage industry
- Prepare issues briefs, reports and deliver insights to regional public affairs and regulatory professionals
- Develop and update reviews/analyses providing guidance on key policy issues and pressure points
- Develop positions and recommendations to support industry advocacy plans on key issues that impact the food and beverage industry in Asia
Primary/Secondary Research and Collaboration
- Undertake research projects, literature reviews, and surveys in collaboration with partner organizations and consultants on industry-specific issues
Support for Engagement Activities
- Assist in the organisation of FIA meetings, industry seminars, workshops, webinars, and flagship events like the FIA Food for the Future Summit, FIA Members’ Day and CEO Summit.
The Person
Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as food science/technology, nutrition, political science, economics, or related disciplines.
- Has at least 1-2 years of experience in policy and research analysis, supporting public affairs or policy advocacy functions.
- Strong interest in policy and public affairs work, with knowledge of government agencies, consultancies, or industry bodies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English and at least one other Asian language.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and deliver concise reports.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.
- Attention to detail, nuance, and the ability to maintain a professional tone of voice.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and establish effective networks with industry associations, institutions, and government bodies.

- Working hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm).
- Position open to candidates currently residing in Singapore only
