Position Summary
The Ares Real Estate Debt team is seeking an investment professional to join their New York team. The position will play a highly visible and key role in the investment process, assisting deal teams in the sourcing and assessment of short-term debt, equity and mezzanine investment opportunities in core, core plus, and value-added oriented commercial real estate projects throughout the US.
The Ares Estate Debt team focuses on directly originating loans using its extensive national relationships with various owner-operators, sponsors, and intermediaries of real estate properties. We seek to provide flexible financing across a potential borrower’s capital structure. While we focus on self-originated transactions, we will also selectively pursue secondary market acquisitions and club/syndicated transactions.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

Job Title: Real Estate Financial Reporting & Accounting, Associate
Job Overview:
In this role, the Associate will be an integral member of the BXMT Finance team, with a focus on financial reporting and accounting for BXMT. The focus of the team is to produce reporting of BXMT’s financial results for stockholders and senior management. Responsibilities will include maintaining the accounting records, SEC reporting, accounting policy, and supporting BXMT’s audit process. The Associate will be working closely with the broader real estate debt strategies group, including the operations team, the FP&A team, and legal/compliance.

Associate
The Associate in Blackstone’s Real Estate Asset Management Group is responsible for supporting the day-to-day responsibilities of the Asset Management team.
Typically, this will include financial analysis, modeling, research, competitive analysis, development of presentations, assistance in the execution of transactions, and drafting of memoranda for internal and external use. Associates will work on a wide range of transactions including leasing, divestitures, restructurings and recapitalizations.
Associates at Blackstone have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of projects and can expect to be staffed on a number of assignments at one time. Associates are expected to assume integral roles on deal teams and are intimately involved with the development, structuring, and financing of transactions and regularly attend both client and internal meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.
