Your new role
As Quality Advisor, you will be based in their head office in Glasgow but with regular travel throughout the UK. Reporting to the head of quality, you will be responsible for supporting all your assigned projects in ensuring they are building and operating in line with our clients' stringent quality management system. This will be done through gathering and monitoring information from sites but through regular site audits and meetings. From there, you will ensure any non-compliance is managed and rectified and support the operations team in driving this into the business.


What you'll need to succeed
Our client is looking for an expert in quality who has ideally worked in a construction, engineering or subcontractor environment and would ideally like to apply their experience with a national builder on large publicly funded projects. You will be experienced in quality management systems and standards and ideally have a related technical qualification in quality management. You enjoy being busy and like working in a stimulating environment which will challenge and develop you.

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK sites, which includes but is not limited to Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, or Inverness.

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within Large Capital Project Services for a Quality Advisor. This opportunity will offer the right candidate an excellent new challenge and development opportunity.

As Quality Advisor your key responsibilities will be:

- Ensuring that all projects within the business unit operate in accordance with SSE's systems and project processes, including the Large Capital Project Services Governance Framework.

- Supporting the development, management and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and establish systems and procedures which ensure consistent project quality plans for large capital project execution across the SSE Group.

- Assessing the product specifications and project requirements while ensuring compliance with national and international standards.

- Defining processes and procedures in conjunction with project staff and bring together staff of different disciplines and drive the group to formulate and agree comprehensive business procedures.

To be considered for this role we'd love you to have:

- Experience of conducting audits both internally, and upon the supply chain, within the energy, construction, or engineering sectors.

- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership in driving quality management activities.

- Experience of developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

- Although a current lead assessor qualification in ISO 9001 is advantageous, we can provide the successful candidate with the training and support needed to achieve this.

- It is an essential requirement for this role that you have a full, current driving licence.

Large Capital Project Services (LCPS) is responsible for providing the Group Executive Committee and SSE's Business Unit Executive Committees with independent assurance services to help inform investment decisions and manage the performance of Large Capital Projects throughout their lifecycle to realise the benefits within the Project Business Case and the wider strategic Business objectives.

Before commencing your role with SSE, you'll need to complete our pre-employment screening process. This will consist of a criminality and credit check.

1. Perform daily periodic checks of Central Kitchen to ensure compliance to in-house GMP/GHP standards, SOP, Product Specifications, etc.

2. Conduct random checks on incoming raw materials, and perform product cutting on raw materials to ensure goods received are within in-house specifications.

3. Ensure Process Verification and Validation exercise are completed (i.e. SOP/CCP verification, new product launch process observation, monthly facility checks, monthly traceability exercise, finished goods shelf-life verification, etc.)

4. Conduct investigations on product/process non-conformance (on-line and customer complaints) and follow-up on proposed corrective/preventive measures to ensure effectiveness.

5. Promptly follow-up with contractors (chemical/pest control) during routine servicing to ensure work orders are conducted as per contract.

6. Participate and engage in quality system implementation (audit activities by regulatory/certification bodies and customers).

7. Conduct data/trend analysis on non-conformity of raw material/finished goods, pest reporting statistics, monthly production and facility check statistics, etc. for process and quality improvement.

8. Ensure analysis of food products via microbiological and physical testing, calibration of lab equipment and measurement tools, internal sensory evaluation are conducted as per schedule.

9. Report all non-conformances, discrepancies and/or deviations, and follow-up on the investigation of the non-conformity results.

10. Other projects as assigned.
