Estate Technician
Ely – covering Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Fenland

We are looking for an Estate Technician to join Estate Services our team, based in Ely. This varied role is responsible for the grounds maintenance and ad-hoc duties of different sites, which will include cleaning, removal of bulk items, litter picking and removal of graffiti. Working as part of a small team of 3 and lone working when required, you will cover several sites across the Cambridgeshire area, primarily on void properties, cleaning and tidying up gardens. The ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate that they are able to adapt to the demands, challenges and changes of the role whilst showing confidence to work within a customer based environment.
The role of Estate Technician will include:
- Undertaking grounds maintenance such as mowing, hedge trimming and grass trimming
- General cleaning and clearing of void properties and communal areas
- Completing daily work records and maintaining stock levels
- Ensuring tools and equipment are kept in a useable condition
- Working with customers to resolve issues and improve services
- Providing accurate information and updates on the progress of allocated work
Skills and experiences:
- Working knowledge and experience of undertaking grounds maintenance, caretaking, general cleaning and basic repairs duties
- Recent experience in interpreting written instructions and maintaining simple written records
- PA1 and PA6 is desirable
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Some practical experience in operating hand tools and light machinery
- British Institute certificate in cleaning services (BICS), NVQ 2 in Horticulture or similar is desirable
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
