Reporting to the Product Manager, you will perform laboratory evaluation and analysis of Food and Pharmaceutical samples to ensure compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with a team of chemists and technical executives to conduct laboratory evaluation and analysis of food and pharmaceutical samples
• Develop competencies and maintain currency in food and pharmaceutical testing and analytical instrumentation
• Review test data and prepare test/verification/validation reports
• Verify, validate and/or perform method transfer of analytical methods
• Interface with customers on sample submissions, job status as well as their enquiries and quotations
• Oversee the proper upkeep of the laboratory and maintenance/qualification of analytical instruments
• Commit and participate in laboratory quality assurance and workplace safety activities to ensure compliance to quality and safety requirements
• Any other duties assigned by the manager and management team

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or its equivalent with preferably 1 year of hands-on working experience in laboratory
• Experience in operating HPLC, GC, LC-MS/MS and UV-Vis spectrophotometer preferred
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and cGMP quality management system is advantageous
• Good communicator and team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Good problem-solving skills with attention to details
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Enthusiastic and resourceful with a “can-do” attitude

Our Client is a Fortune 500 Company and is one of the largest integrated refiners, marketer of petroleum products and chemical manufacturers in the world.

Work Location: Singapore – 628498

Work Pattern: 40 hours per week

8:15am – 5:15pm (Mon – Thur), 8:15am – 4:45pm (Fri)

SCOPE OF WORK

· Set up and implement quality assurance systems & tools such as SQC program and manage the associated schedule, material inventory, data compilation and analysis. Provide support as necessary to help with troubleshooting in SQC issues (e.g. outliers, etc).

· Coordinate and execute quality assurance systems & tools such as Proficiency Test Programs ensuring timely completion and submission of results and timely analysis of results when reports are released.

· Review and update product specifications for product release implementation in LIMS, including process monitoring specifications

· Evaluate new analytical equipment for purchase and follow through on the capital expense process till equipment commissioning, including training shift teams on use of the new analytical equipment

· Provide support to Lab activities, initiatives and/or projects as needed

· Provide timely stewardship reports and/or periodic monitoring of Lab metrics

· Provide support during quality system audits (e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 9001) and implementation of corrective and/or preventive actions as needed

· Ensure data integrity in test result handling & reporting and quality system compliance

· Participate in the continuous improvements of the laboratory quality management system

· Any other work activities as assigned by Supervisor

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

· Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree

· Prior experience in the following industries will be an advantage:

o Oil & Gas (e.g. refinery)

o Commercial labs (e.g. Intertek (i.e. ITS), SGS, Inspectorate (i.e. BSI), Amspec, Saybolt, CCIC, Eurofins, ALS, etc)

o Petrochemicals

o Pharmaceuticals

· Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree graduates with no prior experience are welcome to apply
