Role Details:

Carry out day - to - day operations of the sub service line or team / group within the Singapore Tax Service line and monitor metrics for service delivery, opportunities for improving customer satisfaction and implement appropriate modifications

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist partners in business promotion initiatives viz research on specific sectors/ industries, preparing powerful presentation, preparing pitches etc.
• Demonstrate an application and solution-based approach to the problem-solving technique.
• Maintain continuous interaction with clients, manage expectations and ensure outstanding client service.
• Understand business & industry issues / trends. Identify and suggest ideas on improving engagement productivity and identify opportunities for improving client services
• Research complex tax theory and positions, and apply them to specific client needs.
• Take lead on interaction with the Revenue and regulatory authorities.

Preferred Qualities

• Strong technical knowledge of Singapore corporate income tax laws. Familiarity and practice experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
• Accredition with SIATP will be an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate to client representatives and colleagues

The Tax Associate supports the Tax function in the provision of Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax and Transfer Pricing services to clients. Our services include both compliance as well as advisory services.

Job Description

I Transfer Pricing

· Support the Partner and Manager teams in servicing clients in relation to their tax needs in the area of transfer pricing. Our transfer pricing services include:

o Design of cross border supply chain models

o Implement pricing policies from a commercial perspective

o Perform industry specific economic analysis

o Support clients in handling their tax controversies

· Develop strong relationships with our clients and with our colleagues, both internally and across the Baker Tilly International Network.

· Work with colleagues internally and across the globe in relation to proposals and delivering on tax projects in transfer pricing.

· Provide support in relation to marketing activities such as seminars, webcasts and business development collaterals.

II GST

· Support the Partner and Manager teams in servicing clients in relation to their tax needs in the area of GST. Our GST services include:

o Advise clients on the GST implications and applicable treatment of their business transactions (e.g., new business arrangements, cross border transactions)

o Assist clients with the application of GST registration, exemption and GST schemes

o Assist clients with the review and e-filing of GST returns

o Conduct GST health check reviews, GST due diligence reviews, Assisted Self Help Kit (ASK) reviews, Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP) reviews

o Assist clients in managing IRAS GST audits/investigations

o Assist clients in seeking GST rulings from IRAS

· Develop strong relationships with our clients and with our colleagues, both internally and across the Baker Tilly International Network.

· Work with colleagues internally and across the globe in relation to proposals and delivering on tax projects in GST.

· Provide support in relation to marketing activities such as seminars, webcasts and business development collaterals.

III Income Tax

· Support the Partner and Manager teams in servicing clients in relation to their tax needs in the area of income tax. Our income tax services include:

o Assist clients with the preparation, review and e-filing of their income tax returns (and organising the necessary information request flows, documentation and research needs)

o Assisting in fulfilment of clients’ income tax advisory needs in relation to their business transactions (e.g., new business arrangements, cross border transactions)

o Assist in fulfilment of clients’ income tax advisory needs on tax structuring matters and conducting income tax due diligence reviews (typically in M&A situations)

o Assist clients in managing IRAS queries/audits

o Assist clients in seeking income tax rulings/clarifications from IRAS

· Develop strong relationships with our clients and with our colleagues, both internally and across the Baker Tilly International Network.

· Work with colleagues internally and across the globe in relation to proposals and delivering on tax projects.

· Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or other business-related field
