The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the finance and accounting of the company. These include overseeing sales reconciliation, ensuring timely payment processing, and submitting monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing reports. You would also be responsible for reviewing GST returns and preparing local income tax filings.

In addition, you will review daily reconciliations of accounts receivable, ensure adherence to company policies when reconciling accounts payable and general ledger sub-ledgers, and review balance sheet schedules. This role includes verifying that proper explanatory notes are included. Finally, you will ensure contracted payments and advances comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Sydney.

You will manage a portfolio of high-value clients, including small and medium businesses in the retail and hospitality sectors, delivering world-class service as their primary contact for all accounting needs.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth delivery of their bookkeeping, BAS preparation, and collaborating with the tax team for their tax returns. Moreover, your main goal is to support these clients in their journey building a business.

A prior solid experience in accounting for retail & hospitality companies, and expertise of all the corresponding solutions (Point of Sales, stocks, booking systems...) is a definite plus.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accounting services to a portfolio of Australian SME clients
• Manage bookkeeping operations in liaison with the client and the bookkeeping team

• BAS preparation and submission
• Design, implement, execute and iterate processes to streamline the overall operations at Sleek
• Advising and engaging with clients on various accounting & taxation matters
• Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients for technical questions
• Explore new solutions destined to enhance overall efficiency
• Tax return collaboration with the tax team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years experience as a practising accountant and tax practitioner for sole traders and SMEs
• Complete mastery of the Xero suite - it holds no secrets for you anymore.

Responsibilities:

• Will need to supervise an Accounts Executive
• Oversee the finance and accounting function for a group of Singapore entities and 3 regional accounts
• Review of accounts/reports prepared by Accounts Executive and third-party service providers.
• Responsible for monthly, quarterly and yearly closing process.
• Prepare monthly management reports including analyze financial reports for Singapore and regional entities.
• Provide support in group consolidated accounts for 14 entities which includes reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions.
• Ensure overseas entities submit accurate and timely reports for monthly consolidation process
• Review and submit quarterly GST return.
• Prepare audited financial statements and notes to FS for auditor’s review.
• Lead and support annual audits conducted by external auditors includes preparation of audit schedules and address audit requirements
• Liaise with tax agents for annual tax return.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.

Requirements:

• Must possess at least a Degree in Accounting or ACCA or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in financial reporting and consolidation.
• Proficient in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and taxation (GST, corporate tax)
• Good experience in MYOB, ABSS, or any other accounting/ERP software is a must.

Key responsibilities include:-

Ensuring all management accounting duties are fulfilled. This will include the annual budget-setting process, in-year monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis, and timely provision of training, advice and information to budget holders.

Provide financial information, analysis and advice to the Divisional Operations Director, Clinical Directors and other managers within the Division. To meet regularly with budget managers to ensure that any potential financial or performance problems are identified early enough for corrective action to be effective and that robust income, expenditure and cash forecasts are regularly produced. This may include, but is not limited to, benchmarking of services with other organisations or identifying opportunities from the Trust’s PLICS system.

Responsibility for all aspects of budgetary management within the Division, including monitoring of performance and providing advice on corrective action as necessary. To take a lead role in the division in the annual budget setting process.
