Your new role
As Setting Out Engineer you will be responsible for, but not limited to, understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications, resolving any unexpected technical difficulties that may arise, communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues, interacting with stakeholders, ensuring quality control requirements are met and recorded as well as setting out, levelling and surveying sites. You will be expected to commute and lodge at sites further afield.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will hold a degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (or experience equivalent) and ideally have at least 2 years' experience setting out groundworks, drainage and/or RC works. In addition, you will hold a CSCS card, full UK driving licence and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Finally, you will have excellent attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively with a range of other professionals including clients, construction managers and other engineers.

• Assist teams with both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks related to plant and equipment. Your expertise will contribute to efficient operations at Avonmouth.
• You'll be responsible for the continuous operation of the plant. Quickly identify and resolve faults and breakdowns to minimise disruptions.
• Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement. Implement changes that optimise production and reduce downtime.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your application for this Field Service Engineer role, you must have a minimum of 5 years experience in heavy industry equipment maintenance. Ideally, you'll be CGLI, NVQ, BTEC, or HND qualified and be proficient in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.


What you'll get in return

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Must demonstrate a fundamental understanding of his/her particular core skill area. 2. Your new role
Undertake all electrical works within the area in an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate. This will mean ensuring that all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date, that Health & Safety policies are adhered to.
Main Duties

• Ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety.
• Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment.
• Record and keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
• Maintain a working knowledge of statutory regulations and to ensure awareness of all safety procedures.
• Undertake electrical repairs and installations as appropriate.
• Report any defects at time of service visit.
• Responsible for vehicle and materials on board.
• Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time.
• Understand and comply with policies and procedures.
• Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
• Attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
• Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need the following -

• City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1&2 qualification or equivalent.
• IEE 17th Edition Regulations
• Experience in dealing with all types of electrical installation work, within the services sector.
• Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as required within the scope of the contract.
• Be proactive and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
• Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems.
• Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within role.
• Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.
• Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20 kg.
• Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment; able to work at height.
• Must be available to join a call-out rota.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
