Job Description

• To carry out Design of standalone temporary or permanent structures;
• To carry out building structures design including assisting in structural framing plan;
• To carry out Geotechnical design if with the experience or willing to learn geotechnical design;
• To supervise and lead supporting design Engineers to carry out detailed Civil & Structural or Geotechnical Designs.
• To supervise drafting Engineers to carry out drawings production.
• To plan and schedule the various scope of works including design, drawings production, authority submission and construction supports of the projects.
• To works as effective team member in project team, to interact with clients, co-ordinate with the consultants of other disciplines and the contractor.

Job Requirement

• Minimum 4 years’ working experience in Civil & Structural consultants.
• Highly self-motivated and promising career advancements.
• Experience in concrete and steel structures design, and temporary works design.
• Well-versed in local code of practice, authorities regulations for submission.

A Structural Design engineer is required on a permanent basis for this structural consultancy in central Leeds. They work on a broad range of projects and supply both building structures and Civil engineering solutions. Projects cover commercial, residential, mixed use, Public use and sporting/leisure. They cover both new build and refurbishment and are renowned for their speed and creativity of design.

They are looking for a structural design level engineer to join their design team under the guidance of a Principal engineer to work with him on their broad range of building structures projects. You will be joining a large design team and will be responsible for designing in all traditional materials across a wide range of project types.

Job Scope:

• Carry out structural design and produce professional engineering calculation complying to Eurocodes and prevailing building control regulations
• Attending technical meetings with authorities, developer, and contractors
• Prepare technical engineering reports as and when required by authorities or client

Requirements:

Subsea7 has an opportunity for a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to join our Central Engineering team within the UK & Global IRM department in our Aberdeen, Westhill office, on either a Staff or Contract basis.

Operating in a technical, challenging and diverse environment the role will involve working with various diverse engineering projects. The role will be responsible for supporting the execution of structural design scopes with tenders and live projects currently in execution.



You will be an expert in the field of structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea structures. Key attributes required for this position are:

Extensive experience in the structural engineering and analysis of offshore and subsea steel structures
Extensive experience in seafastening, lift rigging and installation aid design
Chartered or approaching Chartered Engineer status


What will you be doing?

Provide specialist skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of subsea structures engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice
Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include preparation and checking of design reports, engineering support to Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third party submissions
Design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards and design guidelines, client specification and scopes of work
Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, equipment specification etc
Production of specification, data sheets and MTOs
Provide stress analysis for various subsea structures, utilizing STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS and ABAQUS or similar software
Provide specialist structural engineering assistance during occasional periods of site working
Provide specialist structural support to Business Acquisition and FEED study execution
Train/mentor junior and graduate engineers


What experience would we like you to have?

Degree qualified or above in a relevant Engineering Discipline
Structural subsea experience in a similar role
Experience of production and checking of design documentation
Knowledge/use of STAAD Pro, FS2000, ANSYS and ABAQUS or similar software
Ability to lead and function with a design team and across multiple projects
Can work to deadlines set by management
Identifies industry codes, standards and design guidelines
Deliver stress analysis work on projects
Ability to support package engineering and management
Provide structural engineering support to the execution of multi-discipline projects, Business Acquisition and FEED study execution

Roles & Responsibilities

• Reports to the Design Manager
• Review/Develop design drawings and documents in accordance with project requirements
• Coordinate all design related matters and participate in regular/ad-hoc meetings with Clients / Design consultants / Viaduct specialists / Subcontractor
• Monitor and update design schedule regularly
• Prepare & review shop/fabrication drawings for temporary/viaduct structure
• Support Design manager & lead in-house design engineer/drafter

Job Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience of design/construction field
• Candidate with experience in LTA (Road/MRT/Viaduct) is preferred
• Technical expertise and knowledge of concrete material & structure design
• Proficient in proposal for structural systems
• Proficient in Structural Analysis Software (MIDAS, SAP, STAAD etc.)
• Good attitude towards work and timeline
• Independent, analytical and good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Structural design and checking; submission of structural drawings and liaise with government authorities; co-ordinate with site project teams; attend site meetings with clients and contractors.

• Assist Director or Senior Engineer on reviewing and provide solutions to technical problems as well as plan, monitor and report work progress of the construction/project.

Requirements:

• We need Junior and Mid-level Engineer to fill up the positions.

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in consultants office.

• With Knowledge in Euro Code

• Min. Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by P.E.Board

• Effectively bilingual

• Be familiar in Prokon, Orion, TSD, Etabs, ZWCad softwares will be an advantage.

• Be independent, analytical, highly motivated with excellent team spirit and interpersonal skills.
