Job Responsibilities:
1) Lead/Participate in NPI projects (70%)
- Prepare plans for NPI projects (CD&PDP), and coordinate with all stakeholders regularly on the progress.
- Establish and finalize operation procedures, including process, and equipment.
- Constructs and executes scale up plan and process optimizations to meet production goals.
- Monitor status of projects and ensure effective execution according to established plans.
- Analyzes scale up results/ issues, work out the reports and provide related recommendations.
- Create and maintain documents required for new product types (FMEA, Control plan, WI, OCAP, SPC etc).
- Operation training and process knowledge transfer to ensure successful launch of new products in production line.
- Participate actively in all NPI / product development activities since the early stage of new product development.
- Assist in the development of manufacturable production flows for new products.
- Maintain accurate and complete records for projects, including review of records of a multidisciplinary team.
- Carry out Equipment & Process Buyoff.
- Basic understanding on the formulation of flux and solder paste, especially on the mechanism explanation.
2) Support on production activities during safe launch period
- Troubleshoots production line issues related to yield, quality and throughput.
- Participates in process sustaining, definition and improvement, design, development and quality test activities under general instruction.
- Lead 2nd source qualification activities.
3) Other duties
- Function as a technical resource to sales, marketing, field engineers and manufacturing.
- Provide technical advice, expertise, and troubleshooting training & consultation to newbies, Operations & field engineers and to current and potential customers regarding related process information, product usage, flexibility, and applications.
- Work closely and effectively with cross functional teams to support the customer requests with quick responsiveness, knowledge and expertise to win new opportunities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor/master's degree in chemistry/engineering with minimum 10 years working experience.
- PhD in Chemistry/Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in Polymer Materials will be an added advantage.
- Materials processing and practical experience.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of chemistry, especially in polymer area.
- Understanding on assembly materials and applications and hands-on experience with solder paste and other assembly materials in electronic package (Detailed understanding on flux/paste chemistry)
- Practical experience with solder flux / paste and related chemical analysis skills in resolving a wide-range of development / manufacturing issues.
- Ability to create customized solutions, and propose customizable equipment, necessary for process improvements.
- Mechanical parts knowledge and practical experience.
- Strong problem analysis, troubleshooting and solving skills.
- Experiences with NPI or new product development
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to work with cross functional teams.
- Excellent ability to multitask, and work under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize scientific/statistical methods for problem solving.
- Project management skills
- Strong leadership, well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to function effectively as part of a global development team
- Skilled in problem analysing and solving using statistical methodology.
