As a Security Guard you will provide:
• A professional customer service
• Effective access control
• Interior and exterior security through manual observation and the use of on-site CCTV cameras.
Scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to check for any security breaches.
You will be responsible for using corporate protocol to greet facility guests and staff, assigning the proper security access to each. Part of your role will include performing Collaborating with other members of the security team to ensure that the facility is safe at all times.
What do I need to do the role?
You will need some security and customer service experience.
We would also like you to have:
Excellent judgement, decision making and making informed decisions based on own initiative.
SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisors Licence (Frontline)
Full UK Car Driving Licence
Computer experience and software knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
Ability to write clear daily written reports.

12 hour shifts
Day shifts or night shifts available
4 days on 4 days off.

We are currently recruiting for Security Officer's to join our team at a well-known pharmaceutical business in the Barnstaple area. The job will be to deliver a top-quality security service to the customer, deal with any security incidents and to manage access/egress control to the site.
The role will be to cover a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. This will mean that we are looking for flexibility to work Monday - Sunday, on a day and night shift rotation.
The rate of pay is currently £11.44 per hour.
Security experience is desirable but if you do not have this, please do not worry. We are looking for great communicators, people with great customer service and a drive to succeed! We can support you through your on site training, as well as your SIA training. We will initially cover the cost of the license, with different payment plans in place to suit you!
Your Time at Work
As a Security Officer at G4S, your duties will include:
- Control of ingress/egress of staff, visitors and contractors.
- Emergency and incident response including first aid and fire evacuation.
- Searches of personnel and vehicles.
- Site patrols.
- Data entry and administration.
- Reporting incidents/issues/faults
- Alarm response
Our Perfect Worker
Our perfect worker will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. A good IT knowledge is also key.
You must be flexible and available to work on a varied shift pattern which will include days, nights and weekends.
It would be a benefit to have some security experience and your SIA licence, however it's not essential, as we provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence training.

Proven experience as an IT Security Trainer, Cybersecurity Educator, or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, and best practices.
Extensive Cybersecurity experience across multiple domains (e.g. assets, networks, identity, operations, risk, and development) in large and complex organisations
Experience of implementing security standards across an organisation
Experience developing and delivering a wide range of training materials and sessions, from bitesize to workshops to comprehensive training programmes.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate audiences of varying technical backgrounds.
Educated in the field of IT Security (E.g. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security or similar)
Previous experience as a security analyst, engineer or leader, demonstrating first person experience and ‘deep insight’

Job Purpose Statement
