Your new company
Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging role in a friendly and supportive primary school? Do you have a passion for helping children with special educational needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential? If so, we would love to hear from you! This 1:1 Teaching Assistant role is at a medium-sized primary school in Monmouthshire.
Your new role
The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child in year 1 who has additional learning needs (ALN) and challenging behaviour. The role is full-time, starting as soon as possible, and as continuity of care is very important for the child, it will be on an ongoing basis. You will be responsible for providing individual support and guidance to the child, both in and out of the classroom. You will also work closely with the class teacher, the ALNCO, other professionals, and the parents to ensure the child's needs are met, and their progress is monitored.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of working with SEN children, preferably with challenging behaviour. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as patience, resilience and a positive attitude. You will need to have a relevant qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of a child who needs support. You will be paid a competitive rate on a weekly basis, and receive support from a dedicated Hays Consultant.
