On behalf of our client Kainos, we are looking for a Test Consultant.
As a Test Consultant (Senior Associate) at Kainos, you will work to implement, configure, support, and improve our exciting and highly successful cloud-based automated testing application. You will work closely with team members, as well working independently and confidently to manage your own workload. You’ll be able to understand customer requirements, designing and delivering solutions that are aligned to their needs. You’ll support more junior members of the team and share your knowledge with them.
You will be responsible for:
• Delivering solutions to our customers – you will work with global brands, to solve testing problems through delivering Kainos’ Smart™ automation solution for our Customers’ Workday implementation.
• Understanding our customer’s needs – you will perform analysis of Customers’ Workday configuration and understand the specific domain (HCM, Financials, Payroll and Security) configuration that drives their business.
• Applying your product expertise – you will be an expert in the Kainos Smart™ product and apply their knowledge to understand where its functionality, benefits, and limitations apply to the Customer’s configuration.
• Defining, designing and building - From initial discovery of the Customers’ specific configuration, you will define (and communicate to the Customer for their consent) the scope of appropriate tests to be created, ensuring they are aligned with the Customers’ test strategy and provide value. You will utilize the test scope to design and build test packs in Kainos Smart™, achieving a balance of efficiency versus added value for the Customer.
• Upskilling our customers - On completion of the build process, you will teach the Customers’ test users aspects of the Kainos Smart™ functionality. You will also transfer knowledge of what has been built, why it has been built and how to use it. When the deliverables are complete, you will transition Customers to our internal Customer Success teams.
• Contributing to continuous improvement - Outside of Customer engagements, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Kainos Smart™ product by suggesting new features & functionality and liaising with development on the creation and testing of features, fixes etc.
• Working as part of team - You will deliver as part of a team, supported by experienced consultants and supporting more junior team members. You’ll also support your colleagues to foster an inclusive culture in all that you do.
Minimum (Essential) Requirements:
• Capable of delivering with minimal oversight within a payroll / financial, software development, business analysis or quality assurance/test consulting environment
• Experience and appreciation of modern application development technologies, and agile working practices such as Scrum.
• Experience working in a Finance environment such as procure to pay, order to cash, accounting, audit or similar function or in the payroll lifecycle, to include areas such as payroll calculations, retrospective calculations, legislative knowledge in absence entitlements and processing.
• Knowledge of at least one of the following countries payroll legislation – UK, USA, Canada
• Developed knowledge of the trends in information technology and quality assurance, especially ‘Cloud’ computing and SaaS concepts.
• Experience in the implementation of or a Subject Matter Expert within on-premise or cloud-based financial / business applications such as CRM, ERP, BI or HCM.
• A finance, computer science or related degree to a honours level.
• Sound verbal and written communications skills, including business writing and excellent spoken and written English
• A developed understanding of quality assurance / automated testing within a financial / payroll environment
• Experience in client training, knowledge transfer either on client site or remotely
• Very good customer focus, with experience in a customer-facing, consulting environment. Able to understand customer needs and build relationships. Able to understand when to escalate issues.
• Clear and effective communicator, able to communicate with customers and colleagues with credibility and empathy, including in a remote working situation.
• Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics
• Capable of working within (remote) teams and alongside customers, as well as on your individual tasks with no supervision
• Able to plan own workload and meet deadlines
• Some consulting skills e.g., presenting, participating in workshops, explaining functionality or solutions to customers
• Able to apply all relevant standards and procedures to your own work, maintaining high quality, accuracy and attention to detail
• Aware of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure policies and/or agreements and ensures security of information at all times
• Awareness of the Kainos story, wider business offering, company strategy and how to support it
• Able to come up with improvements in tools and/or processes to help the practice
• Able, if required, to travel to customer sites in the same region (minimal out of region travel may also be required)
Desirable:
• Strong communication skills with an affable and credible persona, including formal presentations and customer training
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure, taking a balanced view of client demands and Kainos commercials
• Strong negotiating and influencing skills
• Experience of working within an application support environment.
• Experience of Workday / Payroll Financials
• Exposure to implementation of Parallel Run payroll testing
• Workday payroll experience
