A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and the clinical leads, on behalf of the Clinical Director, within one month after the commencement date of the appointee. If applicable, the job plan will be reviewed annually, following the appraisal meeting. The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out the appointees duties, responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It should cover all aspects of an appointees professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. In addition, it should include personal objectives and details of the support required by the appointee to fulfil the job plan and objectives. The HIV Department conducts departmental job planning exercises as is common across the Trust. The following provides a suggested schedule of the type of clinical and research activity and related activity components of the job plan. Based on 10 PA contract, there will be 7.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) sessions and 2.5 Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) sessions for this post.

The appointee will be expected to work with the multi-disciplinary teams on the ward, supporting the Unit Director and providing supervision to junior medical staff. This is an opportunity to develop further skills and gain experience in Rehabilitation Medicine. The new Consultant will join the RHRU Medical team to provide specific expertise in the management of acute and complex medical conditions following brain injury, liaising with other specialities within the hospital and across London as necessary. The successful applicant must have training in rehabilitation and acute medicine with experience in the management of patients with complex neurological disabilities. You will be expected to contribute to teaching and training, as well as to audit and research. Northwick Park is a large district teaching hospital in North West London Applicants should have full GMC registration and experience, evidence of Specialist Rehabilitation training. Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in medical and surgical Ophthalmology Provision of outpatient services in sub-specialty and general ophthalmology clinics. Responsibilities include ward rounds of our footprint of 90 inpatient beds, assessment of new and follow up patients presenting to same day emergency care(SDEC) and full participation in the Acute Medical on call rota covering 0800-1600, 1400-2200 and 1600-000 shifts. Weekend ward rounds are included on a 1 in 6 basis *All consultants in the department are managerially accountable through the Clinical Service Leads to the CDG Medical Director, who has overall responsibility for the services within the Directorate. *Candidates are required to hold CCT or equivalent in Acute Medicine. *The successful candidates will provide necessary educational and clinical supervision for junior doctors and other health professionals working in their team. In addition, participation in the departmental and Trust wide teaching programmes for the relevant junior medical staff and members of the multidisciplinary teams is expected RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT *Consultants are key members of the Directorate Team and are accountable and responsible for leading changes to service that will improve the patient experience. *To support the Clinical Service Leads in policy and strategy development as a senior member of the Directorate Management Team. *To contribute to the leadership and development of Services under the direction of the Clinical Service Leads and Medical Director and in line with the Trust's business plans. EFFORT *The post holder will ensure effective communication and involvement of staff across the Directorate including support to the General Manager and Group Support Managers to achieve their objectives. Theatres The anaesthetic department at CIC provides anaesthetic services for elective surgery in 6 inpatient, and 3 day surgery theatres, as well as a separate NCEPOD theatre and obstetric theatre. In terms of emergency cover the department provides anaesthetic services for 24/7 emergency operating theatre, A&E, obstetrics, and intensive care, as well as ventilated patient transfers as required, most commonly to the North East. The anaesthetic department at WCH provides anaesthetic services for elective surgery in 6 inpatient and 1 day surgery theatre, plus an obstetric theatre. Anaesthesia is provided for general surgery, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmic surgery and dentistry with a concentration on day surgery, and short stay surgery. In terms of emergency cover the department provides anaesthetic services for 24/7 emergency obstetric theatre, A&E, and intensive care, as well as ventilated patient transfers as required, most commonly to the Cumberland Infirmary and North East of England.
