Junior VP, Investment Analyst – Corporate Finance (M&A, Valuation)
We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Analyst with a corporate finance focus to join our client’s team.
This role is instrumental in conducting financial analysis, valuations, and market research, and engaging with the investment community.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate finance, with expertise in financial modelling and data analytics. Key responsibilities include analysing investments, evaluating company performance, and providing insights to an investor audience.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including financial modelling, valuations, and scenario analysis, to evaluate investment opportunities and assess company performance.
- Analyse market trends, industry dynamics, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunities for the organization.
- Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability.
- Support M&A activities, including due diligence, financial modelling, and deal structuring, to assess potential acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor and track portfolio performance, investment trends, and economic indicators to inform investment decisions and optimize portfolio returns.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, and industry analysts, to enhance the organization's visibility and credibility in the market.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Proven experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, or financial planning and analysis (FP&A), with a focus on financial modelling and analytics.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel, financial modelling software, and data analytics tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex financial concepts into clear and actionable insights.
- Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to analyse and synthesize large datasets to drive informed decision-making.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
- Results-oriented with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
- Open to travel.
