Job Description: This position will be responsible for leading and coordinating efforts to ensure operational excellence in IP Re-Supply Ocean Freight Operations. This entails closely monitoring and actively participating in both commercial and operational aspects to identify effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
· Offer guidance on crucial decisions regarding day-to-day operations within the PL Re-Supply Ocean Freight department, in collaboration with the Operations Manager (OM) and Head of Department (HOD) when necessary.
· Ensure that tasks such as job file management, billing, invoicing, costing, and reporting are executed in compliance with established requirements.
· Supervise the local development of new PL Re-Supply Ocean Freight business, including setting commercial policies and charting future strategic business directions.
· Guarantee adherence to financial management standards, proper billing and invoicing procedures, and accurate reporting for freight, while ensuring correct allocation of all costs.
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting for the Ocean Freight Export department as per specified guidelines.
· Provide training for freight personnel on information systems usage to effectively support business needs.
· Handle tender and pricing inquiries from the Network, Agents, and internal stakeholders.
· Manage Ocean Freight Procurement, including sourcing and negotiating competitive price structures.
· Prepare and submit various assigned reports.
· Conduct training sessions for newly onboarded staff.
· Identify and report negative files to OM/HOD and negotiate with vendors to mitigate adverse impacts.
Requirements:
· A diploma or equivalent certification in a logistics-related field is desirable.
· A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is necessary for this role.
· Previous experience as a supervisor in Logistics/Supply Chain or a similar role is preferred.
· Proficiency in basic computer skills and software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
· Competence and experience in working with ERP systems like CargoWise are advantageous.
· Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
