Responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance and daily operations of the DC facilities with the objective of achieving uninterrupted availability at all times and to ensure the fulfillment of our service commitment to customers.
• Support service delivery to ensure contracted service level agreements and key performance indicators are met or exceeded.
• Perform routine facilities activities including inventory control. Critical systems checks and functional testing. Witness testing of all equipment during commissioning and validate sequence of operations and receipt of all operational documentation.
• Support for customer installations, in coordination with the design & construction as well as operations requirements to coordinate customer move-in and turn-on, and other service request & deliveries.
• Maintain compliance with local workplace safety & health (WHS) standards and local electrical and building codes.
• Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP), method of procedures (MOP), and emergency response procedures (ERP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process.
• Participate in the scheduling, coordination and completion all significant planned and emergency maintenance events for the facility and ensure these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method to ensure the reliability of the critical loads supported by these systems.
• Support various accreditation, certification and compliance initiatives such as BCA-IDA Green Mark DC/QMS/ISMS/BCMS/PCIDSS/OSPAR, etc as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• ITE/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
• No experience required as training will be provided

Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Building Maintenance Assistant to join us at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, offering a unique opportunity to work in a diverse environment providing a wide scope for development of skills and knowledge as well as making a positive difference in supporting the NHS and community we support.

Reporting to the Building Supervisor you will be part of the building maintenance team responsible for providing the building maintenance across the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital site as part of Serco’s Hard FM estates service to the NHS. A role that offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills across the wide range of services we provide.

The post holder will ensure that the hospitals’ building and fabric services and equipment are maintained to a high standard and ensure their continued quality, safety and reliability.
You will undertake building and fabric planned preventative maintenance as well as first response to carry out repairs as requested by the client and be supported with any associated training requirements i.e. steps & ladder, health and safety, working at heights etc. This work is managed through via an electronic handheld device and task management system and will typically include:

- Gulley and drain checks and clean.
- Roof checks and clean
- Installing and replacing fixtures and fittings.
- Respond to minor building repairs and leaks.
- Support Building Craftsperson’s in their role.
- Assist external third party contractors.
- Etc.

What you’ll need to do the role
To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar maintenance role and working within a large complex service organisation. It is preferable that you have knowledge of building trades as this will be an advantage. You will need demonstrate a professional approach, strong awareness to health and safety, good communication and customer service skills and be able to work well in high pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor everyday activities related to facilities and manage repair tasks.
• Identify issues with equipment or facilities and perform simple repairs.
• Oversee the work of vendors and maintenance staff to ensure all facilities are working correctly.
• Obtain and finalize permits needed for vendors to carry out their work.
• Keep all on-site facilities in excellent condition, making sure all maintenance records are accurately completed and processed.
• Take on unique projects or tasks as directed by your Supervisor or Manager.
• Train Facility Technicians, improving their understanding and skills in maintenance systems.
• Lead investigations to find out why equipment or facilities have failed.
• Develop maintenance schedules to prevent future equipment or facility issues.
• Regularly inspect and uphold all operating equipment and facilities to ensure they meet service standards.

Shift Maintenance Assistant

Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
6 week operational rota

Salary: Band 3 £25,468
- £27,486 per annum (plus shift enhancements)
Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join us at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital, offering a unique opportunity to work in a diverse engineering environment providing a wide scope for development of skills and knowledge. The site has 860 beds and covers of approximately 95,000 square metres. The department operates a 24-hour 365 day service.

Main Accountabilities

As the Maintenance Assistant you will undertake works following the guidance of the Maintenance Officer, technicians and craftsman, on all aspects of engineering plant and equipment for both planned and reactive maintenance. You will be working from training programmes, work procedures and operational manuals, recording and logging readings, carrying out basic adjustments and repairs with careful documentation.
You must be prepared to work in hazardous areas and confined spaces taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment. You’ll undertake essential repair works and general maintenance carrying out PPM inspections and tasks. You will understand the CAFM system and have experience in inspecting and testing ancillary equipment and COSHH. You will need to prioritise your workload and be able to work independently meeting tight deadlines.

What you’ll need to do the role:


- 3 years minimum previous experience in a similar maintenance role and have worked in a similar role within a large complex service organisation.
- Knowledge of building and engineering trades will be an advantage.
- Professional approach and strong awareness to health and safety.
- Good communication and customer service skills and be able to work well in high pressure situations.
- Problem solving skills.
- Self-motivated.
- This is a physically demanding role, and you may be exposed to an unpleasant working environment.
- You may also be required to work overtime to carry out emergency repairs and participate in an on-call rota.
