The Financial Controller functions as the property’s Financial Business Leader. He / She is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, like preparation and management of the hotels financial budgets, implementing and overseeing all activities relating to the financial aspects of the hotel in compliance with the local tax laws and also by the hotel’s SOP’s. • Responsible for verifying all financial reports and ensuring that all transactions are accurate and in compliance with local government regulations.
• Effectively manage communication with owners. Regular dialogue and presentations to owner’s representatives on actual and forecasted financial results. Development and presentation of business cases.
• Build effective working relationship with the rest of the property management team, regional and corporate groups, external customers, partners and auditors. Effectively leverage resources outside of own area.

4. Daily Duties and Standard Task

• Put in place appropriate controls to manage business and financial risks. Ensure a strong accounting & operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability. Ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures, and local regulations.
• Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes and ensure compliance with SOPs; make sure appropriate corrections are made.
• Able to prepare and submit management reports in a timely manner and also ensuring delivery deadlines.
• Able to effectively implement all accounting policies and procedures.
• Analyze ROI capital projects prior to committing funds and upon completion determine if anticipated results were achieved.
• Reconcile balance sheet and ensure account balances are supported by appropriate supporting documentation in accordance with SOPs.
• Ensure all issues in the balance sheet are disclosed and adjustments are timely.
• Ensure that the P&L is accurate and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.

• Assists in the building of an efficient and professional team of employees within Finance and Accounting Department.

• Monitor and improve hotels operation costs, profitability and manage business risks.

0%GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Provides excellent customer service while serving as a telephonic concierge and primary point of contact to the financial institution’s high-value customers.• Addresses inquiries and performs account maintenance on deposits and money market accounts.• Assists customers by initiating payment investigations, maintenance requests, fulfillment requests, and fee reversals.• Works with various internal and external clients and various departments to resolve outstanding issues, comply with customer requests, and respond to client inquiries.• Follows up as required to close service tickets and inquiries that were escalated or referred to a different business function.• Interfaces with clients to determine present and future needs and discusses progress toward solutions.• Ensures service expectations are met and establishes rapport with each caller to set positive expectations for account maintenance queries and other servicing needs.• Completes banking transactions and identifies opportunities to market bank products to best meet each caller’s personal needs.• Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of applicable products and services and keeps informed about new products and services and changes to existing products and services.• Successfully sells, markets, and shares information with new and existing customers to educate them about financial offerings.• Provides referrals to the managing director or relationship manager for new and additional services.• Participates in client loyalty process, providing information and encouraging clients to respond timely to surveys. The opportunity

The Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team works with businesses and finance teams to address the risks of accounting, financial reporting and regulatory issues. FAAS teams serve as trusted advisors, both practical and innovative, to help our clients navigate through accounting and financial reporting challenges driven by the changing economic and regulatory environment.

FAAS also provides services to clients who are developing and executing transformational strategies such as launching an initial public offering (IPO), and provide regulatory and reporting support in international capital markets.

Your key responsibilities

As a FAAS Manager, you’ll be a key member of the team, committed to supporting FAAS team in building and maintaining relationships with clients and other service lines in EY. You enjoy challenging the status quo and provide alternative viewpoints. Leveraging off our delivery tools and service enablers, you’ll assist to plan and execute projects and play a key role in the successful delivery of services to our clients.

Skills and attributes for success

• Deliver advice on technical accounting issues, cross -border transactions, regulatory and compliance matters and capital raising strategies across a range of international clients
• Produce reports and analyses on accounting issues related to capital raising strategies and regulatory matters
• Working closely with the practice leaders and executives to support the execution of account strategies
• Proactively engage in conversations with the practice leaders and executives to provide insights on potential client needs based on research of client background and industry trends
• Supporting the planning and execution of the various projects to ensure the successful delivery of service offerings to our clients
• Participating actively in talent and skills development by leveraging on internal and industry learning opportunities

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• A degree, preferably in finance, commerce or accounting; a CPA or similar certification
• At least 6 years of experience in audit or in a large and dynamic organizations in or around the finance field
• Familiarity with US and international accounting standards
• Solution-oriented with “go-getter” personality
• A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Confident, independent and adaptable
• Excellent verbal/written communication
• Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills
• Experience providing assurance services to clients undertaking capital raising strategies is beneficial

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• Experience working in multicultural teams
• Involvement in accounting areas such as transaction accounting, GAAP conversions and accounting change implementation
