The Opportunity:

The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for the maintenance of MPS engineering procedures, oversight of engineering design, configuration and change management, IAW schedules as determined by clients and system/product managers.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical aspects of business operations including but not limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Technical Management of all products and services to ensure ;Implementation and management of the Mission Planning System (MPS) Engineering Management System, and its interface to client systems;

• Conduct of Design Approval for all significant and most non-significant changes;

Your new role
The Engineering Manager is accountable for technical, product manufacturing and the leadership of the design & technical office; a team of established and highly experienced professionals that offer technical project solutions to their customers.

A critical priority of the newly appointed Engineering Manager will be to drive manufacturing improvement processes, resulting in increased outputs and product availability.


Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the resources of the department and ensure full support is provided to manufacturing requirements.
• Follow the life cycle of each project from creation to completion, emphasizing technical soundness and resource efficiency, respecting engineering times to respect company OTDs towards the customer.

• Guarantee the conformity of the systems/plants and products to all the reference standards and certifications (ISO PED ASME ATEX API);
• Carry out additional duties related to the management of engineering and R&D activities, as shared from time to time with the Strategy & Innovation team.
• Exercise of the management powers assigned by operating in compliance with the directives received, the plans and approved strategies, the corporate policies and procedures of the production, quality and HSE department.

What you'll need to succeed

• You will have a proven track record of implementing manufacturing process improvements and optimisation strategies within a similar technical manufacturing environment, such as custom-made metals, metallurgy-based manufacturing, pumps, actuators, fittings, regulators, and other fluid control devices or similar.
• Ideally you will be educated to degree level within a Mechnical discipline or similar.
• Familiarity with product standards, and knowledge of national & international regulations/ standards applicable to product Design for Manufacturing; Design for Safety (DFSS); Lean Experience, HSE management, general; specific risks knowledge is essential.
• You must also have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role.

Tour of duty for this position is : Monday thru Friday 12:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The individual selected for this position will:

Operate the old senate subway and public address system to keep passengers advised of the operational status of the subway and actions that are being taken in an emergency or service disruption.

Inspects and maintains electrical and mechanical components of the subway system. Traces and repairs electrical and mechanical problems in control, guide and car or platform assemblies using electrical test meters, precision measuring instruments and test procedures.

Monitor the operation, via remote terminal, of the senate subway system. Starts the Hart to Capitol subway system at the beginning of each day and parks the subway trains at the end of each operating period.

Monitor the system for alarms and takes action based upon the alarms to ensure the continued safe operation of the subway system.

Clean and lubricate parts of subway cars and subway equipment, cars and trackbeds.

Work with appropriate personnel to isolate software or computer component failures.

Take immediate action to return the system to operation in the event of a system malfunction and notifying other workers of a problem and assisting in the evacuation of passengers.

Inspect and maintains electrical and mechanical components of the subway system using welding, machinist, electrical and mechanical trade practices.

Communicate with other workers on mechanical, electrical, electrochemical and electronic problems; works with them in resetting the system, isolating the problem device or components, and analyzing the possible causes of alarms or system shutdowns.

Takes immediate action to return the system to operation in the event of a system malfunction. This may involve a simple reset of the system requiring no emergency action, or, alternatively, taking an active part in notifying other workers of a problem and assisting in the evacuation of passengers.

Perform limited routine maintenance and repairs of electronic equipment; works with higher-grade employees in the maintenance and repair of systems by performing more simple and routine tasks such as, identifying, checking, and connecting power and signal cables, and replacing defective parts and assemblies which have been identified by higher-grade personnel.
