You will be working for a leading M&E contractor that has continued to grow into one of the largest M&E contractors in the UK. They work on a variety of different projects which include; commercial, industrial and high-end residential. They have a strong pipeline of work and are looking for the right people to join their team for this continued growth.Your new role

• Attend project start up meetings and manage all mechanical aspects, delivering the project, on time and within budget.
• Familiarise yourself with all details and specifications of the project.
• Collate technical submittals, ensuring they are issued and followed through until approval.
• Manage labour tracker.
• Maintain Progress Report weekly, reporting and managing any changes/variations.
• Liaise with main contractors and the client-based site team.
• Oversee coordination and delivery of project plant and equipment.
• Ensure adequate materials are always available to complete the project.
• Ensure construction and commissioning programmes are in place for the job and implement the commission plan on site.
• Manage K&M handover process and maintain K&M Document Management System.
• Project specific scheduling.
• Attend meetings as required with Sub Contractors to ensure on time delivery.
• Attend general site meetings and action any points raised.
• Communicate any innovative project specific works to Contracts Manager (R&D)

The Opportunity:

The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for the maintenance of MPS engineering procedures, oversight of engineering design, configuration and change management, IAW schedules as determined by clients and system/product managers.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical aspects of business operations including but not limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Technical Management of all products and services to ensure ;Implementation and management of the Mission Planning System (MPS) Engineering Management System, and its interface to client systems;

• Conduct of Design Approval for all significant and most non-significant changes;

• Implementation of technical aspects of the business management system;

• Co-ordinating professional development and training of technical personnel;

• Review risk and safety assessments for supported systems;

• Assists standardisation across project teams by developing/maintaining templates for technical documentation;

• Workforce and other resource planning to meet technical requirements;

• Assists Project Managers to define project requirements documentation and resolve technical issues;

• Review and approval of technical documentation;

• Performs technical studies to refine project requirements;

• Monitors engineering aspects of projects to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained;

Your new role
The Engineering Manager is accountable for technical, product manufacturing and the leadership of the design & technical office; a team of established and highly experienced professionals that offer technical project solutions to their customers.

A critical priority of the newly appointed Engineering Manager will be to drive manufacturing improvement processes, resulting in increased outputs and product availability.


Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the resources of the department and ensure full support is provided to manufacturing requirements.
• Follow the life cycle of each project from creation to completion, emphasizing technical soundness and resource efficiency, respecting engineering times to respect company OTDs towards the customer.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of the Department, manage relations with the corporate and group sectors and with external parties.
• Organize department staffing to align with the scope of engineering programs and ensure adequate resources.
• Support all aspects of manufacturing including the foundry, machining, assembly, and testing. Solving problems and maximizing efficiency.
• Engaging in root cause analysis of non-conformities with other functions and external parties where appropriate.
• Establish / maintain the engineering organisational structure in line with the company strategy.
• Guarantee the conformity of the systems/plants and products to all the reference standards and certifications (ISO PED ASME ATEX API);
• Carry out additional duties related to the management of engineering and R&D activities, as shared from time to time with the Strategy & Innovation team.
• Exercise of the management powers assigned by operating in compliance with the directives received, the plans and approved strategies, the corporate policies and procedures of the production, quality and HSE department.

What you'll need to succeed

• You will have a proven track record of implementing manufacturing process improvements and optimisation strategies within a similar technical manufacturing environment, such as custom-made metals, metallurgy-based manufacturing, pumps, actuators, fittings, regulators, and other fluid control devices or similar.
• Ideally you will be educated to degree level within a Mechnical discipline or similar.
• Familiarity with product standards, and knowledge of national & international regulations/ standards applicable to product Design for Manufacturing; Design for Safety (DFSS); Lean Experience, HSE management, general; specific risks knowledge is essential.
• You must also have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role.
