Hays Education are working with a school in Chesterfield who are looking to recruit enthusiastic, committed and highly skilled Teaching Assistants to work with their Key Stage 3 & 4 students. Working with a particular tutor group, you will provide support to vulnerable students in lessons, as well as at break and lunchtime. Class sizes are small, with maximum pupil numbers being approx 10, and you will be guided by the class teacher as to what support is needed.
This is a permanent job, based in one of two school settings working with young people who have been identified as at risk of exclusion from mainstream school, or have already been excluded. Please note that you may sometimes be expected to work at students homes and at other sites within the academy group.
This job is to start either immediately, or January 2024 dependant on your circumstances.
In order to apply for this job, you must:
- Have experience working within a school/alternative provision
- Have experience working with vulnerable young people and/or young people with Behavioural Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD)
- Be resilient, be able to think on your feet and have a good sense of humour
- GCSE's in Maths or English - Grade C/4 or above
- Hold a full and valid UK Driving Licence, have access to a vehicle and include business insurance on your vehicles insurance
