Record and coordinate the flow of work and materials between departments, examine 
orders for goods, and prepare production schedules. 
Formal qualifications are not essential to work as a Production Clerk.

RESPONSIBILITY: 

• Accountable for the stock balance for incoming and outgoing goods. 
• Updates inventory and stock location records. Checks inventories and prepares 
  delivery schedules. 
• Count incoming stock and reconciles it with requisitions. Examines orders and 
  compiles data for production schedules. 
• Receive all incoming goods and verify against purchase orders for quantity 
  and specification. 
• Establishes and co-ordinates the operating procedures for receiving, 
  responsible to ensure the quality of goods are maintained with proper 
  handling, storage, and shipping goods. 
• Ensure goods despatched are securely packed to avoid transit damage. 
• Liaise with Financial Section and Sales & Marketing Department to ensure 
  despatch requirements are met. 
• Liaise with production personnel on quality problems and take the necessary 
  corrective action to prevent reoccurrence. 
• Responsible to prepare the packing slip and loading summary to generate 
  delivery order & invoice. 
• Examines containers to ensure that they are filled, and records quantities. 
• Investigates and identifies supply sources and prepares and processes purchase orders. 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

1.  Min SPM or equivalent.
2.  Knowledge of computer is preferred

After onboarding activities for compliance training, benefit selection and introductory activities, the Associate Print Shop Operator will be assigned to equipment and processes such as:

High Speed Color Roll-feed and cut-sheet color printing, High-speed Mail Inserter, ID Card Production, Laminator, SendPro Meter, US Mail and Vendor Package Shipping, Mail Sort Preparation, Quality Control and other peripheral duties associated with a Print to Mail facility.

Incumbents will be trained by senior staff and co-workers. Performance will be tracked and measured by the incumbent’s demonstrated ability to learn new skills and put them to use effectively and consistently. Coaching and guidance by the incumbent’s team manager will provide constructive feedback on progress and deliverables on training, performance goals and core behaviors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Incumbent, on assigned equipment or processes will follow learned training techniques to meet strict guidelines in Quality, Accuracy and Timeliness to ensure multiple daily product deliveries are met. This position works out of our Alajuela location. As the Production Line Lead I, your role is to assist the Production Supervisor in managing the daily activities of the production of ABBOTT products. • Collaborate with the supervisor on administrative task as vacations coordination, direct labor attendance, personnel transportation, among others.
• Assure the manufacturing process is followed, documentation is filled out and the product is properly handled as to avoid any quality issues or discrepancies.
• Provides feedback to the supervisor related to personnel performance. Supports the supervisor providing continued feedback to direct labor, reinforcing and recognizing the desired behavior and confront the unaccepted behavior. Assure the company principles and policies are consistently followed.
• Might be responsible to keep track of the line metrics and report results on a daily basis.
• Additional to the normal duties should be capable to partially cover the supervisor responsibilities if needed taking people, safety and quality decisions as needed

Required Qualifications

• Must have high school degree, Supervision, Engineering or similar career.

• Demonstrated computer skills and basic MS Office knowledge.

Under the general guidance of the Regional Manager TPM Quality Assurance, this position is responsible for provision of QA and Technical Support to the Abbott Nutrition Third Party Manufacturing Portfolio for manufacture of paediatric and adult Nutritional products.  The Manager is responsible for compliance with Corporate and Divisional QA policies, procedures, standards and specifications as well as country specific regulations depending on the TPM location and markets.  The Manager will be required to make quality  risk based decisions to ensure product release, regulatory inspections and risk resolution does not result in recall of product or liability suits that may result in adverse publicity and a reduction of sales on a long-term basis whilst ensuring minimal impact to Division inventories and the ability to service customer demands.  This position may have budget responsibility. 

Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:

• Provide QA and Technical Support to Abbott Nutrition Third Party Manufacturers (TPM), TPM Operations, Affiliates and other AN Stakeholders

• Responsible for QA portfolio expansion activities related to one or more specific TPM accounts within the global TPM portfolio – this may include both Business as Usual and TPM Start-up activities

• Ensure compliance to Corporate and Divisional QA requirements and identify and / or resolve Quality gaps and / or issues relating to product design, manufacturing quality programs and product start-ups at TPMs

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations of quality events

• Ensure Ingredient / Packaging Supplier approval and compliance at the TPMs

• Ensures compliance and continuous improvement of audit and metric performance

• Provides support to global nutritional and NPI project teams

• Responsible for overall quality and safety of Abbott Nutrition products manufactured at those facilities

• Manage a team who are responsible for all quality aspects at the assigned TPM.

Major Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned Goals and Objectives to include individual, department and TPM goal management

• Manage and coordinate a team of people to effectively manage the largest TPM within the AN network

• Recruits, coaches and develops organizational talent.

• Establish and maintain a robust long term working relationships with the key stakeholders at each TPM, and ensure TPM project activities are carried out within the defined timeframes

• Work with Project Management on Global Nutritional Project teams as assigned (e.g. New Product Introduction projects, Margin and Profitability Initiatives and Ingredient/Packaging projects, to resolve key Quality issues and support product launches in various global markets

• Utilize understanding of QA systems and problem-solving tools to provide alternative solutions to quality issues

• Support disposition of product batches, facilitate investigations, troubleshoot and resolve quality issues in close cooperation with the AN TPM Operations team and the TPMs

• Develop, implement and improve quality systems at the new TPM’s, which ensure:

• AN policy and regulatory compliance

• Initiation and review of Quality Documentation

• Quality and Safety of AN products

• Satisfactory performance on Metrics requirements

• Training as required for Abbott Quality systems

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Costa Rica – Alajuela location in the Electrophysiology Division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As the Production Supervisor, you will provide leadership to the production teams to deliver the business results and expectations on a day-to-day basis for one or more production areas. This position requires training in human resources/people skills, quality systems, and manufacturing processes. The position is responsible for ensuring that standard production processes are maintained and that safety, quality and production volumes are met.

What You’ll Do

• Assess and correct peers' completion of Supervisory responsibilities for production teams including personnel scheduling, evaluating discipline, coaching, selection and training of staff.

• Lead and support any initiative to ensure regulatory compliance within all production areas with internal and external regulatory requirements (FDA, TUV, etc.). Responsible to report quality issues immediately and co-lead their investigation and solution.

• Develop and execute plans to accomplish the production goals, which include productivity indicators, schedule adherence, quality, cost and service while maintaining a safe environment. Have full responsibility / ownership of his/her area of production and related areas as gowning, clean corridors, etc. This includes analyzing different systems to evaluate the state of efficiency and compliance of his/her area of production and related areas.

• Analyze production line leading indicators with prior or following supervisor to ensure that the transition between shifts is adequate.

• Arrange reports to communicate production progress, accomplishments and issues as required. This may include leading daily meetings with staff and peers to discuss issues and determine future actions that impact overall production line. Analyses daily production metrics and establishes mechanisms to ensure that all processes are in compliance with standard procedures.

• SHIFT B: Monday - Friday from 3:30pm to 10:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am to 3:30pm.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Administration or related field.
• 4-5 years supervisory experience. Preferably in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry.
• Computer skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency on manufacturing systems used to collect data and control/monitor processes. , For example SFA, SAP, Kronos, or similar.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ISO and quality systems as FDA, MDD.
• Desirable at least one certification related or applicable to medical industry. For example CQE, 6Sigma black belt, lean coach, problem solving techniques, etc.
• Flexibility to work on different shifts schedule and areas is preferred.
• Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead/influence peers and other functions towards organizational goals.
• Intermediate Command of English.

• Knowledge of Costa Rica laws applicable to direct labor operators is a plus.
