As our Housing Management Worker, you’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth running of our service. You will ensure the safety of our customers, and the security of the building is maintained. You will work collaboratively for referrals and sign ups, can demonstrate effective management of voids, rent and service charge collection.
The day in the life of a Housing Management Worker
- Health and Safety is at the top of your agenda, you will navigate yourself around our H&S paperwork and documentation. This includes safeguarding reports and incidents. It also includes completing welfare checks for customers in dispersed properties as well as completing flat and property defect checks and delivering support to our customers around their finances.
- Thinking on your feet and manage situations on the spot in line with our policies and procedures.
- You will collaborate with your team, as well as working closely with social workers and hospital discharge teams when a home becomes available in the service.
- You will be a driving force in ensuring rent and service charge doesn’t go into a minus. Having a commercially caring conversation with customers is the norm.
- A team player with the confidence to work alone. You will have amazing support to give you the required tools for the role.

You bring
- Awesome organisation skills, documenting the right things at the right times.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, and you can master priorities effectively.
- A working knowledge of housing related processes, including referrals, sign ups, voids and health and safety building management.
- A strong communicator: Verbal and written skills are paramount for the success of this role.
- You’re sociable and interested in people and their stories. Customer engagement is a necessity.
- You recognise when things are about to go wrong and are confident intervening in a sensitive way.
- The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
Our team
You’ll join our friendly, caring team who go out of their way to support new colleagues. Our Homeside Lodge team is led by our Senior Client Services Manager Sarah, who has worked in various roles within both care and housing, starting as a support worker in 2017. She is supported by our Client Services Manager, Glenn who also brings a wealth of knowledge and is a dab hand in leading our catering offer!
You will also have the support of our awesome Support Coordinator, Lee and our team of 12 support staff in your day-to-day tasks in the service.
Job details
- We provide 24-hour support to our customers each and every day. You’ll work between the hours of 9am to 5pm however due to the nature of our work you will work alternative weekends shared with our other housing management workers (Don't worry, you get a day off during the week to compensate for this!)
- We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
- You'll be able to work technology, monitor CCTV and update customer records.
- You’ll also need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
- Able to use technology for creating and updating systems, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
