1. Project Design & Planning:
- Develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, drainage, and other structural components.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and clients to determine project specifications.
- Prepare design drawings, technical reports, and documentation in compliance with local regulations and project requirements.
2. Analysis & Calculation:
- Perform structural analysis and simulations using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, or similar tools.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates to determine the best materials and construction techniques.
- Ensure design stability, safety, and sustainability through calculations and modeling.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure designs comply with Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BCA) standards and other relevant statutory codes.
- Prepare and submit necessary applications, permits, and documentation to relevant authorities.
- Coordinate with environmental, geotechnical, and safety engineers to ensure project designs meet environmental and safety standards.
4. Project Coordination & Support:
- Provide technical support during the project execution phase, working closely with construction teams.
- Review contractor submissions and shop drawings to ensure they adhere to design specifications.
- Assist in resolving design-related issues that arise during construction.
5. Quality Assurance & Risk Management:
- Conduct site inspections to verify that construction aligns with the approved design.
- Identify potential risks in design and construction phases, providing mitigation strategies.
6. Sustainability Focus:
- Integrate sustainable design practices, considering factors such as energy efficiency, water conservation, and the use of eco-friendly materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or registered with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore is an advantage.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering design or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in engineering design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
- Knowledge of local codes and regulations, including BCA, PUB, and LTA standards.
- Strong understanding of project management, cost control, and quality assurance.
