• Directly, and indirectly through Section Supervisors, supervises a staff of administrative and, in some cases, technical employees, responsible for providing assistance to Servicing Office customers.
• Initiates and participates in special projects related to the Guaranteed Single Family Housing Program. Researches issues, gathers and analyzes data, and provides reports as necessary.
• Studies directives, regulations and other pertinent material and observes working process. Uses pertinent data in recommending regulation and handbook changes and compiling time study analyses.

Management and Analysis
Acts as a knowledge resource within the HCS to collect data through the VISN Data Warehouse, the Austin Automation Center (AAC), VSSC, Allocation Resource Center (ARC).
Serves as a technical advisor to facility management providing guidance, recommendations and monitoring in the implementation, management and evaluation of VERA oversight programs, and ensures that the programs meet required standards and/or criteria. Conducts special studies and analysis, including feasibility studies cost/benefit analysis, etc. and submits findings, results, and recommendations in a timely, concise, an accurate manner.
Proactively works with various Councils, Sub councils and management staff coordinating cross-organizational activities and information. While maintaining an effective working relationship and promoting an effective and productive relationship with medical center staff to assure facility activities are accomplished in a timely and accurate manner without major disruption to the medical center.
Develops databases that support benchmarking of data, including financial data, patient populations and workload data. Responsible for the design and development of reports and databases, translating data into meaningful management information that is made available to a wide variety of constituents, including oversight bodies and stakeholders. The databases and special studies produce information that help evaluate/analyze, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of programs in meeting and establishing goals and objectives for the VERA program. Ensures the accuracy of information delivered. Reports are tested, critiqued and updated according to established updated frequency.
Coordinates and disseminates data, special projects, and other information pertaining to relevant program responsibilities with medical center staff for review and/or action. Works closely with the Health Information Management Section (HIMS) to correct discrepancies and work through the identified areas of risk.
Conduct surveys or reviews of Departments/Service lines, as requested by the Director or staff, or identified as an area of risk, to evaluate resource utilization, workload/cost reporting, data validation activities, etc. and provides written reports on findings along with recommendations for improving program activities.

Clinical and Administrative Education
Ensure timely, appropriate, adequate data is utilized, assessed, and evaluated based on thorough understanding of objectives and functions of clinical and administrative applications and their relationship to medical center operations.
Performs clinical or administrative training on areas of improvement based on the analysis performed within VERA. Training is to be provided as needed in a group or one-on-one setting and will address specific areas of concern.
Responds to information requests from facility staff, in a timely matter, with respect to confidentiality.

Management of VERA Program
Is a member of the VISN VERA Resource Allocation Committee, providing monthly updates on all prorated persons (PRP) and price group allocations.
Completes daily, weekly, and monthly reports utilizing the VERA Analyzer, VIP, CCM, ACM, and other specified Nuance and Clintegrity programs. Reports are to be completed on Inpatient and Outpatient workload.
Counsels and advises program managers on the methods and procedures for collecting and analyzing data from management reports using the appropriate data source and information management tools. Acts as an internal consultant to provide information support to program managers with accurate and detailed information regarding the data definitions.

The primary purpose of this position is for the employee to serve as Management and Program Analyst managing the Space Launch and Re-entry (SLR) and Emerging Technology Program within the Atlantic Area’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) by providing SLR support policy guidance, and leads the spaceflight support mission of the Atlantic Area.

• Utilizes extensive knowledge of USCG’s workforce composition and the interrelations with USCG’s units to provide direction and to oversee SLR, other aspects of the program, and to provide advisory services and support to operating or management officials regarding SLR missions.
• Leads, coordinates, tracks, reviews, and when necessary, directs the review of SLR support policy at the district levels to determine whether existing documents should be revised to improve MTS safety due to factors such as increased vessel traffic such as commercial vessels and recreational boaters, changing industry demands, conflicting offshore uses, weather conditions, and other challenges.
• Provides technical support to the Incident Management Section Chief by monitoring projected activities in the marine environment (past, pending, completed, and forecasted) and advises on SLR issues such as AOR support regarding risk management etc., on coastal and offshore waters within the Atlantic Area AOR.
• Liaises with the NASA for the coordination of Area support to the HSFS mission, and engages in SLR mission management meetings, planning, and risk analysis. Represents the Atlantic Area as Search and Rescue Liaison (SAR LNO).
