This Senior M & E Design Engineer - LPN will report to the Design Lead and will work within Capital Programme & Procurement based in our London (West Ham) office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £76,229 plus car and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

The Senior M&E Design Engineer is responsible for producing M&E designs and project costings in line with customer requirements for time, quality, and budget. This role involves collaboration with Project Managers, Customers, or the Design Lead on APP and Connections works, adhering to UK Power Networks' design standards.
The engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, other Design Engineers, and the Principal Designer (CDM), ensuring all designs meet compliance standards for regulated network solutions.
General responsibilities include:
- Conducting feasibility studies, site surveys, and assessments for M&E engineering installations.
- Creating M&E engineering designs that comply with standards and CDM regulations.
- Reviewing peers' designs for quality assurance.
- Managing the production of technical, commercial, and contractual documents for engineering product procurement.
- Upholding all relevant legislation, regulations, and company procedures.
- Following design assurance and audit processes.
- Mentoring junior engineers to develop their skills.
- Assuming the role of Principal Designer for designated projects when necessary.
Key accountabilities entail:
- Delivering outstanding customer service.
- Collaborating as a team player with Designers, Estimators, and Planners.
- Ensuring a seamless transition from initial inquiry to final commissioning and business closure.
- Working with external experts to develop standard and site-specific solutions, providing precise specifications for innovative designs.
- Fulfilling the obligations of the Designer/Principal Designer role as needed.
