About The Role

AppliedVR is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Prescription Data Entry Associate to join their team on a part-time basis. This remote role is ideal for individuals passionate about healthcare innovation and looking to contribute to a rapidly evolving industry. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the administrative fulfillment processes by accurately transcribing, processing, and updating patient and prescription information within the company's pharmacy management system. Reporting directly to the Commercial Operations and Market Access Manager, the associate will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity, compliance, and efficiency in processing inbound prescription referrals received via fax. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies. Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in a retail, mail-order, or hospital pharmacy setting, or a comparable medical data entry role (preferred)
• Typing proficiency of at least 45–50 WPM with high accuracy
• Understanding of basic medical terminology, patient records, prescriptions, and insurance concepts
• Experience navigating electronic health record (EHR) systems or proprietary pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, EnterpriseRx, PioneerRx); experience with Niko Health is a plus
• Exceptional attention to detail to prevent errors and ensure patient safety
• Nice-to-have certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) via PTCB or ExCPT, Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) via BOC
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote, fast-paced environment
  
  

Responsibilities

• Accurately process inbound prescription referrals received via fax and input all required information into the digital pharmacy software system
• Review prescriptions and supporting documentation, including clinical notes, patient demographics, provider details, and insurance information
• Transcribe patient, prescription, provider, and insurance data from source documents into the appropriate digital records with high accuracy
• Verify completeness, legibility, and consistency of documentation before finalizing data entry
• Identify missing, incomplete, or unclear information and coordinate with internal teams for follow-up
• Upload and attach prescriptions and supporting clinical, demographic, and insurance documentation to patient records
• Perform regular quality checks to ensure data accuracy, correct errors, and maintain organized patient records
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, company policies, and data-entry procedures to protect patient confidentiality
• Process referrals efficiently while ensuring compliance and data integrity across all tasks
