Build and modernize external, user-facing applications on AWS using React, Node.js, and serverless architecture. This is a long term contract role for a senior full stack engineer who works remotely and can start contributing early.
About the role
You will work on new product development and the redesign of legacy applications into modern React and Node systems running on AWS serverless infrastructure. Teams here operate in a poly-skilled way, so feature development sits alongside automation and improvements to the frameworks the team tests against. The work rewards engineers who move with minimal guidance and communicate clearly in a distributed setting.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and ship full stack features across React front ends and Node.js services
- Build serverless solutions on AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, and RDS
- Own complex development work and manage defined sections of ongoing projects against firm deadlines
- Build and monitor microservices using distributed design patterns
- Write design specifications, unit tests, and technical documentation
- Strengthen automation and test frameworks alongside feature delivery
- Code alongside agentic AI tools as part of your normal workflow
What you need
- Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on JavaScript (ES6) and React.js
- Strong hands-on Node.js development, meaning real coding depth rather than package management alone
- Deep working knowledge of AWS serverless architecture: Lambda, S3, SNS/SQS, Kinesis, RDS, and DynamoDB
- Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience designing, building, and monitoring microservices
- Hands-on CI/CD with Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline
- Strong unit testing discipline, automated API integration testing, and working experience with automated device and browser testing
- Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, systems analysis and design (OOAD, UML), database design, and SDLC practices
Nice to have
- Event-driven architecture and stream processing patterns
- Hands-on use of agentic AI or LLM-based tooling such as Claude, Copilot, or LangChain for development acceleration
- Infrastructure as code with AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or similar
- Fluency with KMS, ALB/ELB, Route 53, and VPC
- GitHub-based CI/CD workflows
- Background in high-frequency data monitoring or tooling
- Agile and Scrum experience on a collaborative team
- Java or Python exposure as an addition to React and Node depth
- Relevant AWS or professional certifications
Hourly Pay Range: $80-$90
