About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Python Software Systems Engineer to join our dynamic, fully remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, deploying, and maintaining our platform to enhance its speed, security, and reliability. Your responsibilities will include delivering new features, optimizing system performance, and ensuring high availability of our services. As part of a small team, you will have the opportunity to influence the future architecture and deployment strategies of our products, working closely with developers and operations personnel. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, eager to grow with the company, and experienced in DevOps or Agile methodologies. You will thrive in a distributed environment that values independent work, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to work independently with excellent communication skills
- Strong programming experience using Python or other high-level programming languages
- Solid scripting skills using Python, Bash, or similar tools
- Demonstrated commitment to writing robust, testable, and industry-standard code
- Experience with configuring and administering production services
- Knowledge of developing and maintaining staging, testing, and development environments
- Ability to automate software lifecycle processes to support Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)
- Familiarity with system deployment and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet (preferred but not required)
- Experience with building large-scale or complex multi-tenant web applications (preferred but not required)
- Understanding of parallelization, code optimization, and Big Data operations (preferred but not required)
- Experience participating in on-call rotations and diagnosing system failures efficiently
Responsibilities
- Contribute to code quality through writing unit tests, integration tests, and participating in code reviews
- Design and implement system architecture using Python, ensuring robustness and scalability
- Configure, deploy, and maintain production services, ensuring high availability and security
- Develop and sustain staging, testing, and development environments to facilitate reliable code deployment
- Automate software deployment processes to support continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing prompt diagnosis and resolution of system issues
- Develop and maintain procedures for system updates and upgrades without service disruption
- Collaborate with team members to improve system architecture, security protocols, and deployment strategies
- Explore innovative solutions to enhance platform performance and security
