Summary
Remote Crew is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build robust backend systems supporting Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales operations. You'll develop core APIs, optimize database performance, and architect scalable systems that power internal tools and automation. While experience building AI agents is a valuable plus, this role focuses on backend engineering excellence, system reliability, and architectural decisions that enable the GTM platform to scale.
Salary: $4k-$4800/month
Location: Remote from LATAM (Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil)
What You'll Do
- Design and build robust backend systems and APIs supporting Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales teams
- Architect scalable database solutions and optimize query performance for high-volume operations
- Develop core infrastructure that enables automation workflows and data pipelines
- Work on system reliability, monitoring, and incident response for production services
- Collaborate with GTM stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Build integrations with external GTM tools and data sources
- Optimize API performance, latency and resource utilization at scale
- Establish and maintain backend best practices, code quality standards and documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making across the platform
- Iterate based on usage feedback and evolving business requirements
What We're Looking For
- Senior-level Python engineering skills with proven production backend experience (at least 7 years)
- Deep expertise in backend systems, APIs, databases and performance optimization
- Strong understanding of system architecture, scalability and reliability patterns
- Solid experience building and maintaining complex data pipelines and integrations
- Proven ability to design systems that handle performance and scale requirements
- Strong problem-solving instincts and ability to navigate ambiguous technical challenges
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and query optimization
- Comfortable with asynchronous programming and concurrent systems
- Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to stakeholders
- Experience building AI agents or working with agentic frameworks - nice to have
- Familiarity with Salesforce (data model, APIs, or admin experience) - nice to have
